•Chapter Four•
•The Weird People•I should just say I'm sorry. I'm not, but I should apologize for exploding like that on her. Thea didn't deserve my little temper tantrum, but the way she went on and on about Greyson, it just ticked me off. I got madder and madder and madder and before I knew it I exploded in fiery passion. My dad didn't deserve it either, but I had already apologized. It wasn't much of an apology, but I'm sure my dad got the message. Mariam on the other hand could go suck it. I wasn't apologizing to her. I don't feel sorry and she doesn't deserve one anyway. The thing with apologies though, I never know how to start them and once I do get started I could ramble for an hour. Apologies are hard. Maybe Thea will just approach me and I'll get out of doing any hard work.
It felt weird not to be heading to lunch. It felt to so strange not have Thea yanking on my arm and scolding me. This felt like such an easy victory, I almost feel that I don't deserve to watch anime. Almost.
The library was mostly vacant as usual. I didn't dare venture into the corning where I might see Greyson. I was afraid maybe I'd start yelling at him too. He most certainly didn't deserve that. Instead I made a beeline straight to the computer lab. I spotted Heath sitting in the back.
"Hey," I pulled up a chair next to him. "Can I come over after school?"
"No doesn't seem to stop you anyway, so yes." He replied, not taking his eyes off the screen.
"What are you doing?" I asked, ignoring his snide comment.
"Just playing a game." He mumbled.
"Well, stop ignoring me." I whined.
"You really need to start talking to Thea again. You're getting so clingy." His eyes never strayed from the screen.
"I am not clinging. We just don't hang out enough. I didn't even see you over the summer and we live a block away from each other." I attempted to justify my clinginess.
"I was away for the summer for the most part." He mumbled.
"I know that, but it doesn't mean we couldn't have texted or something. Maybe FaceTime?"
"How is it possible you are getting more annoying?" He groaned, exiting out of his.
"Hmm, I don't know. I didn't even think it was possible." I quipped.
"Lets go." He sighed, standing up.
"Where?" I swung my bag over my shoulder.
"Can't eat in the computer lab." He pointed to one of three signs in the room that had a crossed out photo of food on it.
"I knew that." I mumbled after him.

"Will you miss me when I'm gone?" Heath mumbled, almost inaudibly.
"Hmm? Where are you going?" I rolled over on his bed to look at him sitting on the floor.
"You know, college. We'll hardly see each other." He shrugged, almost looking nervous.
"Oh, yeah. Of course I'll miss you. I'll miss you like crazy." I joked.
"I'll miss you too." He mumbled back with a small smile.
"More than Ivy?" I joked.
"I don't know." He mused. "I'll miss Ivy too."
"Well, you won't get the chance to miss me. I'll call you everyday and we'll FaceTime and you'll be so sick of me by the end of it." I laughed, Heath joined me.
