One Shot: Reading With His Little Girl

The little one's feet pitter pattered across the floor, book in her hand. "Daddy!" She exclaimed happily to him, lifting the book up. Ignis turned to the sound of his daughters voice and smiles at her. "Yes sweetie, what is it?" She knew by now her father was blind so of course she says in a happy voice. "I want you to help me read!" Knowing he can't read, she would read out loud to him but when she gets stuck on a word she would spell it out for him and he would tell her what it was. He chuckles lightly. "Alright dear." He bends over and picks her up in his arms, walking her over to the couch with ease, already familiar with this soundings.

He sat her down in his lap and she opened up the book. "So, what book are we reading today?" "Where the Wild Things Are, Uncle Prompto got it for me the other day, remember?" Ignis thought about it for a moment. "Ah yes, i think i remember now. Lets get a start on it shall we?" She smiles and nods, starting to read the first part of the book to him. "The night Max wore his wolf su--...Sua--..s...mmn" Ignis smiles a small bit. "Its alright, how is it spelled?" "S-U-I-T" She told him. "Ah, suit."She nods and continues to read. "Max wore his wolf suit and made miss....miss--cheif...mischief of one kind" Ignis nods. "Yes vary good dear, go on." "And another, his mother called him "WILD THING!" And Max said "I"LL EAT YOU UP!" So he was sent to bed without eating anything." She paused after that. "Whaaaat?....No eating?....She's a mean mommy!" Ignis couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction, gosh how he loved his daughter. "Indeed, he threatened to eat her, thats not vary nice of him as well." She pouts for a moment but continues to read on. Igins wish'd he could read to her though, he would love to really get into the books and do the voices of the character and just really help his daughter enjoy the books even more. If only he could ask the gods for his vision back, just so he can help his daughter fully enjoy things with him. After reading it was bed time for the little one. "Alright, Bed time dear." She lets out a soft pout. "But Daaaad, im not tired yet." He gives her a small look. "If you be good and go to bed I'll give you an extra treat in your meal tomorrow for school." Her eyes gleamed at that. "Oh will you?!" He nods. "Yes, i always keep my promises." She nods and jumps off his lap, heading to her bedroom to get ready. After a few minutes he enters her bedroom, walking over to her bed. "In bed dear?" His daughter nods a few times. "Im in bed daddy!" He sits on the bed and starts to tuck her into it. "Alright, I will see you in the morning." He leans in and kisses her nose, he meant to do the forehead but it was close enough. She reaches and gently grabs his glasses, taking them off of his face, revealing his scared eyes. "....why did you take those off..." "I want them here with me tonight, i wanna keep them safe." He smiles at that. "Your such a sweetheart, wounder where you got that from." She smiles and leans in, nuzzling his face for a moment before pulling away and setting the glasses by her pillow. "Good night daddy." He stands up. "Good night sweetheart, I love you.""Love you too" Ignis makes his way out and shuts off the light.
