The beginning

Fontaine swam up to the Areonax feeling incredibly guilty.Shed left her parents to drown in a trench that was about to close.Entering the Areonax through the moonpool she saw her brother Ant waiting for their return.She slid out of the suit and carefully went across to her brother.He was twelve although you'd never guess it.
"Fontaine!Where are mom and dad?"
Shaking her head she ran to Bridge and steered the sub out of the trench.It closed up seconds after they were out.She turned to find Ant looking at her with a horrified expression.
"You..you left mom and dad down there!"
Fontaine closed her eyes.
"Mom and Dad are dead Ant.They only had one rebreather and they gave it to me.If I had stayed we would all be dead though."
Ant walked towards her and nodded.
"I understand.I think I need to go.."
He ran off.Fontaine shook her head and contacted the WWOA to tell them that her parents were gone.They told her to stay calm and wait for the pilot to come and steer them to land.Then after Fontaine had given out her coordinates and cut the connection she decided to go and find her brother.
After searching for around an hour she found him hidden behind a pile of crates crying.But what was weird wasn't that he was crying although he didn't do it often was that he was curled up,legs to his chest,arms around his legs hugging them to his body tears cascading off his face.Fontaine sighed squeezed into the tiny space next to him and put an arm on his shoulder.
"Hey,at least you've still got me!Thats good right?"
Unforunetly it didn't help as he just buried his head in her chest and cried harder.
"Ant,someone's going to be coming to take us to land soon.You might want to wash up."
Ant continued to shake as tears and huge sobs racquet his skinny body.Fontaine could only think of doing one thing.She detached his arms and stood up before lifting Ant up.He nuzzled closer to her and with some difficulty she managed to get to his room and place him on the bed where he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.When she was sure he was asleep she went up to the loading bay to welcome the pilot.(of course she had pulled the areonax to the surface first)
Not five seconds after she was up there did a helicopter land.A man got out and soon the submarine was on the way to land.While the piolot was driving Fontaine decided that she'd go and check on Ant.
He was still in his room, laying on his bed but the look on his face was so sad.It killed her inside.Returning to The bridge the piolet asked Fontaine about her brother.
"Don't you have some sort of super genius inventor dude as a brother?"
Fontaine didn't think he was a super genius but her brother was an inventor so she answered him.
"Umm..he's taking a nap at the moment."
"He's twelve though.Arent daytime naps only for little kids?"
Fontaine grew angry.
"Just get us to shore please.And for the record you'd want a nap if your parents just died."
The piolot nods and two hours later they surface next to a dock.Fontaine tries to wake Ant.
"Ant..ant...Ant!For gods sake just wake up!"
She grabs a cup and fills it with water before throwing it on her brother.His eyes open immediately and he looks angry but he doesn't say anything,justed stares angrily at her water dripping down his wetsuit.
"Come on.Were going to meet someone apparently."
Ant gets up and runs alongside Fontaine as they go down the corridor of the Areonax.A woman is in the kitchen.She straightens up when she sees the children.
"Hello.You must be Fontaine and Anteous Nekton.You can call me Kelly."she turns away to speak to the piolot and says"I can take it from here thanks." The piolot nods and leaves the Areonax.Kelly turns back to the kids."Now, we've found you a set of foster parents and we hope you'll enjoy the change.Living on land instead of in the water."
"Wait ,you mean we're leaving the Areonax?"Fontaine said panicking.
Kelly frowns."Yes.You can't live there alone and the WWOA is claiming it back anyways
.We'll need you to collect your things up in the next few minutes.Then you'll be off to Piedmont California to start your new life.Ok?Im gonna give you some time to go and pack alrighty."
Both of the children nodded and disappeared.
Later Kelly came to get their things and found that Both children were waiting,each with a small suitcase and Fontaine carried a metal scroll that seemed out of place but she decided not to question it.
"Come on kids!"
They climbed into the car and strapped themselves in.
"Seems as if they've been on land before"Kelly thought to herself.
They drove until they reached the new house.Waiting by the front gate was a woman with long brown hair in a complicated plait and a man who looked as if he was as strong as an ox.
Kelly stopped the car and everyone got out.
"Hello kiddos!Im Felix Brown and that's Laya.Shes my wife.Do you want to come in?We can show you your rooms if you want."
Ant drew back from the full on couple and hid behind Fontaine.
"Sorry about my brother he's not usually like this...."
"It's alright.Bye Kelly we can take it from here.Lets go inside."
They follow Felix up the path.
"So Fontaine I heard you spent your entire life on a submarine.Whats it like?"
"Really cool!You learn about so many different types of marine biology and....."
Felix looks round and sees Ant standing beside Laya and Fontaine looking slightly bored.He goes over.
"Wanna see your new room?"Felix whispered to Ant.
Slowly Ant nods.Felix leads him up the stairs to his new bedroom.
"You can look now."
Ant takes his hands from his eyes.His room had an underwater theme and even his window was like a porthole.Ant turned around and hugged Felix who crouches down and hugs his new son right back.Later when Fontaine is shown her room her reaction is nearly the same.By the end of the day they've figured out the difference between the siblings.Fontaine speaks.Ant doesn't.
