Chapter One: The First Day
I still remember that day, the day I met him. Summer was just around the corner.my brother wanted to go swimming.
I closed the door and Dillon started walking really fast. I could tell he was excited. As we walked the sun was biting down on me. We pasted my school and Dillon was already almost too far away for me to hear him.
"Emma! Pick up the pace we're almost there!" he yelled at me.
"Just hold on Dillon!" I replied running to him.
When I finally caught up with him he said, "Race you there."
"Oh come on! I'm tired!" I yell as he ran off.
I ran to catch up again and when I reached the pool, Dillon was already inside . I opened the door and ran right into a boy. Towels flew everywhere. I got up really dizzy. I saw him still on the ground.
"Oh my Gosh! Are you okay? I'm so sorry I was racing my brother and I-"
"Really, it's okay. I'm fine and you don't have to give me the details about why you were running I'm sure you didn't mean to," he said getting up.
He wore a white shirt that was tucked in and light tan pants.
I looked into his deep blue eyes and said, "So your not mad?"
"Of course not, but I would be happy if you helped me clean up this mess," he said pointing out the towels.
"Sure," I said picking them up.
I started to fold them when he said it was fine not to. I was about to leave when I realized I didn't know his name.
"Oh I'm Emma," I say holding out my hand with a smile.
He shook it and said, " I'm Jake."
"Okay well I guess I'll see you around," I waved at him good-bye.
As I went inside Dillon stood there arms crossed, looking at me.
The lobby walls were painted a golden color and there was a little gift shop to my left. It had lots of stuff from T-Shirts to snow globes. Next to it was the door were we came in. Behind me was a door leading to the pool. The front desk was of course in front of me and the lady was waiting for us to just buy our wrist bands and go in the pool.
"It's about time you came in," he said, " Gosh every time you see a hot guy, you just have to flirt!"
"Shut up, I wasn't flirting," I said.
"Yes you were."
"No I wasn't!"
"Yes you-"
"Okay you know what, Shut the hell up or I'm going to take you home!" I yelled.
"No you wouldn't," he said.
"Oh yes I will!" I grabbed for my phone and he started screaming.
"Shut up you dweeb your going to get us kicked out," I whispered angrily.
"Your the one that wants to leave!" he said.
"I said we'll leave if you keep acting like a five year old!"
"Fine I'll stop!" he said, " so just buy our wrist bands and we'll be on our way."
I nodded and went up to the front desk. Today the wrist bands were a light green, my favorite color.
I gave Dillon a dollar to pay for a locker and we split up into the locker rooms.
It wasn't that big of a locker room, it had six showers and six bathroom stalls. The walls and floor were a sky blue and the shower curtains were grass green.
