Acting A Color..

Teased

Most of my life, I have been teased for talking, dressing, and acting the way I am. And kids (SOME black kids in particular) say really mean and nasty things to me. Like for example, I REALLY love Alternative, and Pop much more than I like R&B and Hip Hop. And what these kids would say is "You are an Oreo!" or "Why are you acting white?" I'm not White, I don't like racial stereotypes AT ALL! I'm very open to any race. I don't see race, I see personality because at the end of the day, we're all humans. And we're all in this world together and we have to stick up for each other. But, a lot of the black kids NOT ALL but some look at me like I'm from a different planet, but it's not all just black people sometimes. I do have a lot of friends that are very mixed. And I enjoy them all! But most of my friends are White or Hispanic. I enjoy them as well! Growing up in an all black school, I felt like I wasn't like everyone else. I stuck out! I was the "goody two shoes", the "white boy trapped in a black boy body." And it really took me a long time to get over the teasing. I really didn't like the so called black culture. I'm more into the so called white culture. But now, I like the Pastel Goth culture. A lot of people say I have the personality of a different race. I didn't act like the stereotypical black person. Like for example, I hate rap, sagging pants, backwards hats, watermelon, not really into kool aid, incorrect vocabulary or grammar. I do understand we are not all perfect. But, that's how a lot of people wanted me to be. But everything is marvelous now and a lot of people are treating me very nicely. We're making progress!
