She isn't you

Sitting there

Ruby red shoes cover her feet

Eyes focused on the floor

Like nothing was wrong

Scars running up and down her legs

Cuts in her ivory skin

Crystal tears silently falling to the ground

Making a salty puddle

He had said he loved her

Then cut her

He told her he hated her

Then hugged her

Her purple bruises constantly reminding her

Of him

No one approaches her

Even though they can see her pain

Too  conflicted in their own needs

Their own worries

Chipped nails

Gray hairs

A few pounds

While she sits there

Crying her eyes out

No one cares

Because she isn’t their flesh and blood

So her scars deepen

Instead of heal

You say someone should do something

Stop her hurting

But you sit there in your plush chair

While she aches

While shes in pain

When she is gone

You hear about her on the news

And you send flowers to the grieving parents

Pretend to care

But you didn't care enough to help her

When she needed it

Nobody helped

Nobody bothered

But everyone Grieved

Because it was easy

Effortless

You didn't break a nail

Or ruin your perfect reputation

Just spent five dollars

To comfort her parents after she was already gone

You could of saved her

But it wasn't worth a hour

Or a nail

So she died

And you live

Without gilt

Or regret

You tell yourself, convince yourself

She wasn't your responsibility

Because she wasn't you

You think people would help you in her shoes

Even though you didn't help her

You expect it

While she needed it

But no one provided for her

No one will provide for you

So now shes dead

And your life goes on

She was only one person

And she wasn't you

Explanation of poem~ We see people in pain everyday, but we don't do anything. And those people sometimes suffer and sometimes die. After seeing them we go home and tell our family and friends how no one helps those people. But we aren't helping anymore then anyone else. when those people are abused so much they die, they are put on the news, so we send flowers to sow that we are sorry that that happened. Even though we aren't.

We as people think that if we were in those peoples shoes people would help us. We would expect it.but if no one helped them, why would anyone help us?

People don't try to help because if the person is anyone beside oneself we think we don't need to care.
