He grabbed my hand and led me to the car.
“Where are we going?” I asked giggling a bit.
“It’s a surprise.” Mir said.
“Well I never would’ve expected that.” I said in a sarcastic voice. My husband was so predictable but not at the same time.
“But you would never guess where we are going.” He said with a smirk on his face.
“I’m scared now.” I said.
“Oh you should be.” He said and grabbed my hand.
We held each other’s hand as we drove for an hour. As the car slowed to a stop, Mir parked the car. I looked up I raised my eyebrows in amazement.
We were in the parking lot for the Skydiving facility. We were going skydiving today. I practically screamed in excitement. I had been asking Mir to take me skydiving since our first date and he would never take me because he was too scared.
“Are you serious right now?” I asked as I squeezed his hand tightly.
“Unfortunately, yes.” He said as he put his head down. “I think it is time for me to do something outside of my comfort zone.”
“Finally!”
“Hey! Just be glad that we are doing this now and not when you are 70.”
“Whatever. Let’s just get in there already!” I said and released his hand and burst out of the car and practically ran to the building.
Mir followed a few seconds after me and we checked in at the front desk. We had to wait for a few minutes in the waiting room but then got to a room where we were trained. I was really happy but every time that I looked at Mir’s face, he looked like he was going to be sick.
A few hours the teacher told that it was time for lunch and that in one hour we would go to the helicopter. When the teacher left the room to get us some food I turned to Mir.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
“Yeah, just a little nervous.” He said and immediately dropped his head down.
“We don’t have to do this you know.” I said. I grabbed his hand he brushed it away.
“No. I have to. I need to.” He said and gave me a small smile.
“You know I love you so much right?” He said. “I would do anything for you.”
“I know. I love you too.” I said.
“And even though I couldn’t give you everything that you need, I will always be here for you. Even if you might not understand why, I am doing everything for a reason.” Mir said with sad eyes.
“Mir. Where is this coming from?” I questioned.
“I know times have been tough with us. Especially after I left the group and had to pay for court-“ He started.
“Mir. Don’t. You left that group because it was ruining your health. And that stupid company only sued you because they were too obsessed with the money.” I said.
“I know. I know. But I can’t help but to think that it would be different if I were still in the group.” He said.
“Well we cannot dwell on the past. We need to live in the now. And right now chicken is coming through those doors.” I said as I gestured to the teacher with 3 boxes of chicken in his hands.
We ate together and when we were done we got prepared for the jump. We suited up and walked into the helicopter. The helicopter roared and suddenly rose off of the ground.
