I woke up to the blinding sun. I had almost thought what happened last night was a dream, until I saw the bloody button-up shirt lying on the floor next to me. It was 7:00 in the morning. My rounds started at 9:00 today, so I needed to get ready quickly. I didn't even have enough time to process the fact that I saved a man's life yesterday. I walked towards my desk to grab my medical notes and saw a card on my desk bearing a note.
"Min Yoongi, 282 457 3876.""Oh my god, don't tell me the man from last night was Min Yoongi from the bangtan boys! I knew he looked familiar! No, it couldn't be. I'm sure he just has the same name..." I mumbled to myself. I quickly got dressed and went on my way to the hospital.
Yoongi's POV
I entered BigHit's studio, being careful not to make an entrance. I had a mask on so that I wouldn't be recognized by the public."Yoongi! Where the hell were you?!?" Taehyung yelled from the music room.
"You can't just not show up, and then not answer any of our calls! We thought you had gotten hurt or something!" Jin said.
I sighed, "I was hurt, but that doesn't matter now."
"You were hurt, how?" asked Jimin.
I slowly lifted up the shirt I had borrowed from the girl last night.
"Oh my god! Were you attacked?"
"Yes, but a woman found me. She tended to my wounds. I'm really okay, guys."
"Whoever did this emergency treatment is good, the stitching is perfect," Junkook said, mesmerized.
I remembered the woman from last night. She was going to call an ambulance, but listened to me when I told her not to. Most people would've freaked out in a situation like that, but she dealt with it perfectly. I couldn't have the press finding out I was attacked, it would be a new scandal.
"Did you just leave the girl without thanking her?" Namjoon asked me.
"I left my name and number on her desk."
"Wow," Hobi sighed. "I can't believe you got attacked. Something like this has never happened before."
"I know, I was just as surprised. I wasn't expecting the guy to stab me. Maybe mug me and take all my money, but not stab me."
"Yeah," they all nodded together.
Jae Eun's POV
I changed into my scrubs. There were many other interns here, and they seemed to already be friends. I didn't know anybody here."Hi!" a small figured girl said.
"Hello!" I smiled.
"I'm Mi Na! I've been an intern here for only a week or so, but I can show you around!"
"I'm Jae Eun, thanks!"
She smiled at me and grabbed my arm. She pulled me out of the changing room and showed me the many rooms and floors of the hospital.
"So now that I've showed you everything, we should go do rounds now."
I checked my watch. It was quarter to nine.
"Crap, we better get going" I laughed.
We took the elevator up to the 7th floor. Neurology. We walked past many rooms until we got to one with a young boy.
"That's Ho-Jun. He was diagnosed with a stage 2 brain tumour in his frontal lobe." she pointed.
"That's terrible," I said.
"Luckily, it's only stage 2. If I was stage 3 or 4, it may have been inoperable. His surgery for the removal of the tumour is scheduled for later today."
"I hope it goes well."
"Me too."
"Ladies!" yelled a woman from across the hallway.
"Great," Mi Na muttered under her breath.
"Who is that?" I asked, whispering.
"That's your first glimpse of hell, my friend," she laughed. "That's Dr. Chu Sul. She's one of the attendings here at the hospital. She doesn't take your mistakes very... well."
I sighed. So that's one of the mean doctors. Great, of course I get assigned to her on my first day. Mi Na and I walked over to her.
"Ah, you must be Ms. Jae Eun," she said holding out her hand.
I shook her hand, "Yes, it is a pleasure to meet you Dr. Chu Sul, I have heard amazing things about you."
"Have you now?" She grinned, raising one eyebrow. "You girls are assigned to my service today. Neurology is a very sensitive practice. It takes not only patience, but emotional strength. There is a higher chance of loosing a patient in neurology than any other medical practice, except for trauma of course. Although, many patients in trauma end up having head injuries anyways."
We walked into a room with an older woman, maybe in her late 40's.
"Mi Na, report," she said.
Mi Na cleared her throat, " Min Hee, 46 years of age. She was misdiagnosed by her doctor, and was told she had a stage 4 brain tumour. The doctor falsely conducted a biopsy instead of doing proper scans and tests first. She-"
Min Hee cut her off, "I don't need the story of how that doctor ruined my life again, just get to the point."
She cleared her throat once more, but Dr. Chu Sul interrupted.
"Give the report to Dr. Eun, she needs experience as well." She gave Mi Na the "death stare".
Mi Na handed the report over to me, "Ms. Min Hee is now properly diagnosed with a common aneurism which is going to be removed later today."
"Short and sweet, just how I like it," Min Hee said.
~Time Skip~
"God, she's really a bitch," I groaned."Min Hee or Chu Sul?" Mi Na asked.
"Both," I laughed.
"Want to go out for some drinks?" She asked.
I remembered the phone number left on my desk, "I'd love to, but there's something I have to do tonight. How about tomorrow?"
"Of course! See you tomorrow," she smiled and walked towards her car.
I sat down in my Buick, and turned on the ignition. I whipped out my phone and found the business card in my dash board.
"Now or never," I sighed.
I entered the phone number that was neatly written down. I then hit the call button. The phone then ringed once, then twice, then three times. I was worried that there would be no answer until a deep male voice answered."Hello?" He asked.
"Um, Hi, is this Min Yoongi?"
"Yes, and who are you?"
"I'm Jae Eun. I treated your wounds last night. You left your number on my desk."
"Oh, yes. I wanted to find a way to repay you. Is there anyway we can meet up sometime? Are you free now?"
"Yes, I am actually. I just got off work."
"Great, where is your work? I can send a driver."
"No need, I'm in my own car now. Where should I meet you?"
"BigHit Entertainment studios."
"So it's true. You are THE Min Yoongi."
"Yeah, honestly I'm surprised you didn't scream."
"Arrogant much?" I asked coldly.
"Maybe," he laughed. " I'll see you soon?"
"I'm on my way."
I hung up the phone and let out a deep sigh. I wonder what he was like when he wasn't unconscious and hurt...
This chapter was really long lmao sorry to bore you 😂
