{ON HIATUS} Wizard of Ahhhs (PTX fanfic)

Chapter 7

A large shadow pounced towards and landed right in front of my face.

"Oh my gosh, AVI?!?!" A look of shock spread across my face.

What - or should I say, who stood before me was I think was supposed to be Avi, but looked like a legit lion. When he bared his teeth, you could see sharp fangs sticking out. Fur surounded his whole body, claws poking out of his paws. Even the tail behind him was swaying back and forth. He also had the same piercing green eyes. Avi was putting on a brave face, but fear was clearly shown in his eyes. I took a step forward, and he took a step backwards. I reached out with my hand, and gently stroked the side of his face. He purred for barely a second before yanking his head back.

"It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." I whispered, hoping to make him seem less frightened of me.

My plan worked; he plodded right next to me and sat down. For an intimidating beast, he sure is quite the scared one I thought to myself. I patted his head and advanced forward.

"Come one guys. We should get going" I spoke the group.

"Okay" A deep voice resonated behind me.

I stopped and did a double take.

"Woah, hold up! YOU," I pointed at Avi, " can speak?"

"Well, yes..." He made it sound like it was really obvious.

"You're an animal!!!"

"So?"

"Then how come Toto can't talk like you?" I gestured towards my dog.

Toto turned to face me, and titled his head to the side.

"I don't know. This land is weird."

With that, he carried on and walked ahead of me. I stared at Scott and Mitch, who were just watching the whole thing. They just shrugged their shoulders. They both mouthed at the same time 'We don't know either'.

"Well, are you ladies coming or what?"

I spun around to see an impatient Avi-lion tapping his foo- I mean, paw on the ground. I sighed, and carried on down the yellow-brick road.

This is a lot to take in.

A/N  Woah, what is this? Another update? *taps computer screen* Yeah, so I decided to give you guys another chapter, in order to make up for that last wait, even though this was another short one. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!
