The Secret

Chapter 1- Our Birthday

"Ughh!! I dont want to get up!!" I yelled hiding my head under my covers again.

"Come On Aerie!! We are gonna be late for school!"

"I dont care." I was seriously dreading this day.

"But today is our birthday..." Lizy whined.

"Fine!" I crawled myself out of bed.

I could tell Lizy was extremely excited because today we both turn 16. We are twins. We both have bleach blonde hair and dark violet eyes. People get us mixed up all the time and today I am so hoping that doesn't happen.

I hurried up and pulled on my white skinny jeans and a turquoise flowy blouse. I ran down the staires braiding my hair to the side and pulling on my gray converse sneakers. All of a sudden, I heard the engine of the bus roar. I ran out the door just as the bus was pulling away. Great! Now I have to walk. Can this day get any worse?

Evidently life took that as a challenge because right when I got in front of the school, I saw my crush kissing my twin sister. Right then and there I fell apart, every little piece of me hit the ground and shattered. I guess I was staring a little too much because my sister stopped and looked straight at me.

"Aerie!! What are you looking at?" Lizy yelled from across the street. Thats all it took I put my hands over my face just as tears started to fall. I was so heartbroken. For the rest of the day all I did was hide in the bathroom and cry. I can't believe my sister could do this to me. she knew I liked him. I had had a crush on him since 2nd grade. I can't believe why she would break our unicorn promise.... Never do anything to hurt your twin. Obviously she didn't care about the promise... She broke it just like her and colin just broke my heart. What a backstabber.

LIZY P.O.V

Ughh!! Why was Aerie so upset this morning? After she seen me and Colin kissing, she ran off like a scared little girl! What was wrong with her? She's kinda worrying me. I haven't seen her ALL day! Where has she been?

Later that day, I was sitting in my room when I heard the front door shut. Oh thank god! Aerie has finally come home! But when I walked down the staires it wasn't Aerie.

It was my dad.

I haven't seen him since Aerie and I were four. He left when mom found out he had cheated on her with a slutty mermaid from in your fuckin dreams ocean. She was devasted when he left but we were too young to know what had happened. Honestly, I hated my dad for leaving my mom, my sister, and me. He was a selfish bastard!

Even though, I hated him so much when I saw him walk through the door I was frozen in my place. I didn't know what to do! Was I suppose to hug him? Or yell at him for leaving us? Deep down I wanted to do both.

Before I knew it, I was standing face to face with him. I could feel tears welling up, but I didn't want him to see my emotions. So, I did what I do best. I ran out the door until I couldn't run anymore. By the time I stopped my eyes burned with hurt. I couldn't stop the tears from coming. When I saw my dad, it was like a slap to the face. I have missed him so much! I don't know why though. He has tore our family apart and left us. Who does that? I know who.
