Harry had just arrived at the Burrows, when he was greeted by a bear hug from Hermione and then Mrs. Weasley, who as usual, thought that Harry was to thin and forced him to sit at the table, while she heated up some onion soup for him. After he had finished the soup, he and Ron grabbed his suitcases and headed up to Ron's old room to unpack for the summer. After he had finished unpacking, he and Ron went back down stairs to go see if there was anymore onion soup; all the unpacking had made Harry hungry again.
Every time Harry bumped into Ginny he would mumble something inaudible and walk away with his head down. He kept this up for about a week, when Ginny had finally had enough, and she cornered him in a hall way. Harry tried to run but she wouldn't let him go, she said, "If you don't quit avoiding me like I'm the plague Harry Potter I'm going to jinx you; just because we broke up doesn't mean we can't still be friends. And I'll keep your secret. You don't have to worry about that, if that's what it is." Before Harry had time say anything in response Mrs. Weasley called for Ginny to come help her in the kitchen. She gave him one last warning glare and ran off down stairs to help her mother.
The summer was great; they got their letters in the middle of August and went to Diagon Alley a few days later, to get their supplies, for this coming school year. When they arrived, Diagon Alley was in its usual hustle and bustle of shoppers trying to get their supplies, for Hogwarts as well. Harry's spirits were lifted to be there, to be back in the world of witches and wizards, where he knew he belonged. He was about to go into Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes when he bumped into Hagrid, who picked him up in a big breath taking hug, which Harry returned to the best of his abilitys, since his arms were restricted by Hargrid's. Hagrid put him down and they decided to go to the joke shop together.
While they were there, they ran into Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom, talking to George Weasley. They asked Harry if he was returning to Hogwarts for the repeat year and he told them, "Yes." But then began wondering how they knew about it, since they had stayed at Hogwarts last year. He asked them how they knew and they told him that all of his seventh year classmates would be returning, because the castle was basically demolished from the fight, (although it was rebuilt through the summer by no less then magic, and lots of it), so no one got to finish the year. Hearing this news made Harry more ecstatic than he already was and got his mind off of a certain dark haired man, which he had been trying to do since he realized he was gay; and the closer it got to September 1st the harder it was to get his mind off of him. He was hoping that this year at Hogwarts would give him the chance to tell this man how he felt and see if he felt the same way.
After they left the joke shop, Hagrid and Harry went there seperate ways, since he was on official Hogwarts business for Headmistress Mcgonagall. Harry headed back to Flourish and Blotts, where he had left Hermione and the Weasley's. When he got back, he told Ron and Hermione about bumping into Hagrid outside of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and what Luna and Neville had told him about all the seventh years returning. They were just as surprised and happy as he was about it. Once they were back at the Burrows they discussed what they felt it was going to be like when they returned to Hogwarts and fell asleep, each having their own dream of this coming year at Hogwarts.
They were awakened by Mrs. Weasley the next morning, telling them that they were going to miss breakfast, if they didn't get up and get down stairs. Hermione squeaked and ran out of the room without a word to the boys. They looked at each other and shrugged, wondering what that was about. They soon found out when they got down stairs and there was a birthday cake where all the breakfast food should have been, and everybody yelled happy birthday Harry making him smile and thank everybody, then blow out the candles then Mrs. Weasley pointed her wand over at a counter where plates and silverware were sitting and they started to floating towards them and set themselves on the table. Then she pointed her wand at a knife on the table and it started cutting the cake and putting slices on plates which then floated to the various people in the room along with a fork for them to eat with. As they all sat around the table eating cake and talking amongst themselves Harry looked around and was happy to see that everybody had been slowly becoming who they were before all the loss and tragedy of the year before and was a little sad that the summer would be ending in a week.
The Weasley house was very chaotic the last week with them packing for there last year at Hogwarts. When the day finally arrived for them to leave they all got dressed ate breakfast and then gathered there trunks and apporated close to the train station and walked in wothout any suspicious muggles wondering where they had come from. Harry was the first on the platform 9 3/4. Then came Ginny with Mrs. Weasley, then Hermione and Ron. They all got the trunks onto the train and then said there Goodbyes to a sniffling Mrs.Weasley and got on the train and waved goodbye out of the window of their compartment until they could no longer see the sweet woman that had raised them through all of these years.
