Cloud

"Urghh,why do I have a dog!",Delta exclaimed half muffled under her sheets. Climbing down from the bed rubbing the sleep from her eyes  she went down stairs to find Cloud barking at the neighbor's dog.

Delta sighed. "Cloud get your butt her this minute before I come get you myself."

Cloud ran towards Delta,jumping on her making her tumble to the ground. It rained the night before which meant that the grass was still wet and it was muddy.

"You need a hand miss?"

Delta froze on the ground. Her curly brown hair quite a mess since she got out of bed not caring how she looked. Her over sized t-shirt hid away her very short shorts that made her look like she had nothing under. Pushing cloud away from her, she was boring into the brown eyes of a stranger with pearly white teeth and smelt like vanilla - or was that the smell of what the black mug he was holding  contained in it.

"Hey,are you alright?"

Those words made her snap out of her thoughts.

"Yes please, she affirmed,her voice more than raspy as she expected it to be. "Thanks, she put out a hand not sure of what to say or do. I'm Delta, you must be one of the Venors".

"Yes I am, Reid actually, Reid Venor",he announced putting his huge hand in her tiny one.

Her parents told her a couple weeks ago about the people who will be moving in the neighborhood soon. However, she only heard the first part of her mother's words and something about inviting them over to dinner but had no clue it was today.

"Great,she thought, her voice lacing with sarcasm. What a nice way to meet the new neighbors with mud all over and my hair looks like God knows what",she muttered.

"That's fine",Reid chuckled sipping on whatever that mug had. I'm thinking it was cocoa or something. "We all meet people in the weirdest or funniest situations. The good thing about it is that meeting someone you can always remember how you met,especially in the funny situations", he gestured with the hand that held the mug to Cloud who went back to her conversation with her new friend.

Delta looked up at Reid in shock not knowing that he heard her. Her attention went to Cloud who continued with Reid's dog. They looked at back at each other and burst out Into laughter. After a few moments,they stood awkwardly not knowing what to say or do.

"Well, I'll be heading back to finish unpacking since my mom does not want us to be late for dinner or something like that".

With that he left not waiting for a response from her. Delta observed him as he walked away. He was wearing flats, with army khaki shorts and a black v-neck T-shirt.

After her examination of the breath taking new neighbor,she left with a smile on her face to take a shower. Whiles walking away,something Reid said hit her.

"The dinner"
