Jess's P.O.V

"Nelle, mummy and daddy are home!"

Helen's jolly voice can be heard from outside the front door and the sound of Leonelle's bare feet against the wooden floor fill the flat as she comes running to the hallway. Her hair is plaited into two braids and she's dressed in the cutest little outfit, denim dungarees with a pink jumper underneath. She looked so grown up.

Conor pick her up and swing her around in the air, Leonelle giggling like crazy.

"Had a nice time?"

Helen joins us from the kitchen with her apron still tied around her waist. It still fascinate me how neither Conor or Jack could cook anything apart from pasta and microwave meals with a mum that literally owns the kitchen.

"Yeah thank you for everything, it means a lot honestly"

Both me and Conor had trouble sleeping last night and we hadn't woken up until past midday by the cleaner knocking on our door. It must've been the worst wakeup call you can ever get, realising you're both totally naked and an unknown person is on it's way into your hotel room. Luckily Conor had managed to throw on a pair of boxers and a
T-shirt, just in time to apologise for not using the do not disturb sign properly, stopping the cleaner from walking into a real sight.

"No problem, she's so easy to take care of now, you don't have to do much at all anymore, you're daughter is so well behaved you should be proud Jess"

With that said did I feel the little monster wrap her arms around my leg, chuckling as I attempt to take a step with her clinging to my foot.

"Can mummy get a kiss?"

I crouch down to her level and she happily peck my lips before running after Conor.

"Still daddy's girl, huh?"

Helen nod towards Conor and Leonelle and just seeing the both of them together made me all warm inside.

"Yeah, I'm lucky when she actually cares about me for a few hours"

"Be patient Jess, she'll apriciate you in the future"

I laugh at it because Helen's totally misunderstood the sarcasm with what I said.

"I'm not jealous Helen, I love that she love Conor that much, it could've been totally different with all of the time he's been away over the years"

Helen pat my upper arm and smile at me.

"She's clever just as her mother, she's lucky to have you Jess"

I smile proudly and walk over to Conor and Leonelle in the sitting room, standing behind him where he's sat on the sofa, letting my hands rest on his shoulders, I start to massage his tensed muscles and feel how he relax underneath my fingers.

"Oh my goodness me, that hurts Jessie"

Conor try to wriggle away from me as I begin loosening up the knots in his neck and shoulders.

"You're as stiff as metal pole Conor, I need to do this or you'll start hurting"

He reluctantly sit back down and let me continue, quietly gritting his teeth, trying hard not to swear in front of Leonelle who's all stuck in Frozen.

"Okay that's enough, come around this side instead"

I sigh but skip the debate and walk around the group of sofas to sit down next to Conor. He wrap his arm around me and I Iean my head against his shoulder.

The time is just over eight when Helen and Gary decide to head home. They both had work the next day and needed to get home in time. Leonelle had drifted off to sleep on the sofa after I covered her up with a blanket about an hour ago so it was just me and Conor up.
