As I gaze at the enormous buildings and the campus in front of me, I stand rooted to the ground. I take in the lush green campus, the students milling all around the school and - oh. The students. To say that the guys standing at the entrance were cute would be a really gross understatement.
And I mean, a REALLY gross understatement.
I couldn't keep my eyes off the guys. They were SO cute. They could give teddy bears a run for their money any day.
And by the looks of it, some of them couldn't keep their eyes off me either. I feel my cheeks glowing flaming red as I understand the actual meaning of being 'checked out'.
Since the past 2 months, I had been going to the gym like a fitness fanatic, practically devoured the issues of Vogue and eaten salads like those were only edibles left on Earth. I can't even begin to fathom HOW these cheerleaders can hardly eat anything else but salads for MONTHS ALTOGETHER?!?
I could never have imagined the amount of hard work, dedication and 'foodlessness' that would be required to get a fit body. Those cheerleaders must've also craved delicious, unhealthy and junk food. I mean, who doesn't? It must be one hell of a sacrifice.
Huh. Guess thats what 'no pain, no gain' actually means.
I was a natural blonde with blue eyes. Standing at 5"6, I was quite tall and my pair of wedges only added to my height. With a crop top and a pair of 'short' shorts, I looked every inch, the stereotypical cheerleader. I wanted to become a cheerleader anyway. So why not put the stereotypes to use?
I entered the school building. Dunlap Union. I felt a number of eyes on me as I walked up to my assigned locker and started preparing for my first class of the day. English Literature. Good. I really couldn't handle something like Arithmetic at the start of the day. Ugh.
What? Just because I was a nerd doesn't mean that I have to like every subject I'm good at.
I was about to shut my locker and proceed toward my classroom when something appeared next to me. No wait, someone was standing next to me. Two someones. And by the looks of it, two very hot someones. One with platinum blonde hair and the other a brunette.
'Hey, hi. Are you new to this school? I haven't seen you here before,' Blondie says giving me a wide smile. She was gorgeous.
'Yeah. I've actually taken admission here a month late. Its my first day today,' I shrugged, smiling in return. I didn't how talking with beautiful people felt, but if this was it, I must admit, it felt pretty good. I felt.... Confident.
In my previous school, I had remained the loner nerd the entire year. And I got friends the minute I walked here with my changed appearance? Unbelievable.
'Oh. In that case, lets make introductions quickly, shall we? I'm Cara. Cara Lopez. And this is Gretchen Anniston.'
'I'm Stephanie Adams. Nice to meet you, ' I said with a bright smile.
'Oh, Steph, I love your - .... Wait, is it okay to call you Steph?' Gretchen asked.
'Definitely! As much as I love my name, I wouldn't mind parting with a few syllables of it if my friends would like that.'
'Great!' she smiled. 'As I was saying I just love your outfit Steph! Would you like to grab a bite with us and go shopping after school?'
'Sure! I would love to,' I say. 'And I could use some friends in this new school.'
