CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

OH. MY. GOSH.

Am I hallucinating?

"Director Kim?" I said half-surprised half-dreaming. He only smiles and claps.

Okay that snapped me to reality. It's really him. It's director Kim. He is one of my favorite people in entertainment industry because of his amazing skills. He's also one of the most popular directors directing a Broadway.

Who wouldn't be glad to see him face to face? I'm so honored to see him because I'm one of all those people who were dying to see him.

"You have an amazing dance skill, Ms. Matsumoto? Am I right?" he asked. Oh my gosh. He praised me. He praised me. I can't believe this. I smiled, nodded and blushed a little.

"For what I know you are the daughter of Madison and Ryuu?" Wait. How could he know that I'm the daughter of. . . Oh, well. It's my parents so of course he'll know who I am.

"So, let's see. I'm expecting that you also know how to sing and act as well?" he asked and I politely say yes.

He asked me to give him a sample so I did my best to sing and act so I wouldn't embarrass myself in front of him.

He smiled widely and clapped. "You really do sound like your mom. You also act well like her." I didn't really get what he meant but how does he know that my mom sings and acts well? Okay, this feels creepy now.

"So, your parents didn't tell you? Then let me tell you a fact about your mom, dad, and I. The three of us entered the same high school and college so we know each other very well. Do you know that your mom's dream is not being a writer but an actress? Do you also know that your dad's dream is not being a lawyer-businessman but also a director like me?"

I just nodded and felt embarrassed. It's not because of the popularity of my parents that's why he knew them, but because they were friends after all. Who knew that this would end up like this? My favorite director is friends with my parents.

THIS IS TOTALLY AMAZING.

But wait. I got caught up in the moment. Why is he here anyway?

"Uhmm, not to be rude Director Kim, but why are you here anyways?" I asked curiously. He chuckled before saying, "The teachers said that you didn't want to participate in the Broadway. But I think it's a waste not to participate because you all have the qualities I'm looking for the lead."

Wait. Did I just hear that right? I have the qualities he's looking for the lead? So that means. . .

"Yes. I am in charge of directing this school's Broadway." he smiled before saying "Please keep that a secret to everyone. I don't want to be misunderstood that you're my favorite because of your parents." he gave me a pat on the shoulders before turning his heels.

Oh my gosh. I really need to stop always blurting what's inside my head.

                        *   *   *   *   *

I was about to open our front door when my mom suddenly opens it.

"AALIYAHHHHH!!! Is it true that you met him? OH MY GOD. Honey, come over here. Aaliyah is now back." sometimes I think that my mom is not really a mom but a teenage girl. "Oh, hey there sweetie." my dad kisses me on the forehead.

"So, so, is it true that you met him?" my mom asked excitedly. "Mom, could we please talk inside not here in our front door?" she just giggled and pulled me inside the living room.

"So, what now?" my mom asked wiggling her eyebrows. "Mom, stop that. You know that I hate it when someone does that." I said in an annoyed tone. "But you wouldn't tell us." she pouted like a little kid.
