I went to the office and grabbed the clothes I had stashed there, knowing this was going to happen.  I tossed McKayla and the kids their clothes and towels.  I quickly dried off and changed grabbing the files I needed in one hand and grabbed a very annoyed McKayla with the other arm.  I dropped Alexis off with Serena and Michael with Brady before heading to my room, McKayla wouldn’t say a word to me.

“You are such a poor loser,” I grumbled dropping her on the bed as I made my way to my desk with the files.

            “You cheated,” she grumbled.

“There were no rules, remember?”  She huffed at my remark, turning her back to me sulking.  I shook my head at her childishness and started reading my files.  I needed to remember exactly what I did to this Bruce character.

After a while she came over to me climbing into my lap like she always had before.  The closeness felt right, she was back where she belonged.  “I miss this, having you curled in my lap.”  She nuzzled her head deeper into my chest, taking in my scent.  “I would never make a threat I couldn’t follow through with and I could never kill you or your children.  I would punish you guys if needed, but you’d never see a whip, a sword or any other object striking you from my hands.  I’d never torture any of you three as I do with others. I’d never allow anyone else to ever touch you, all because I love you and your children and only you and your children.”  I said sincerely with all my love.

“I love you, too.” she started smiling, I knew there was more.  “But you forgot how boring your life would be without all my drama.  Did you find anything out?”

“I ordered the seizure of Bruce’s kingdom a hundred twelve years ago and I’m guessing he held onto that grudge for this long.  He was herding humans as if they cattle, branding them and making them his slaves.”

“Isn’t that what you did and still are doing?”  She asked slyly.

“Back then humans were a dime a dozen, there was no threat to the human race.  We were to kill our victims, not take any chances of them getting away and telling the wrong people.  We needed to be a secret to the human race.”  I explained before carrying on with the rest of the story.  “I had Bruce tortured to find out if there were any more humans hidden and when it was revealed there wasn’t, I took his kingdom and title away and let him go.  We killed all the human slaves and moved on with our secretive lives.”

“Well he obviously didn’t move on.”

“No, I guess he didn’t.  He also kept his witch and all her decedents.  That would be where Andrea comes into play.  When Bruce found out I found you, keep in mind this was well before you came here, he had Andrea apply for the job as a secretary at Alex’s shop.  When she got the job, she managed to get Alex’s trust by sleeping with him.  After the final volcanoes went off he lost her.  Alex found her again here a week after you arrived.

She started talking to him and getting all the information she needed from him until Alex was killed.  It was then Bruce had a spell put on Annabelle to love Steve.  She told him all about you and how you were an angel.  He must have known there was a way to bring people back from the dead and the only way for them to stay alive was if they were changed into a vampire.  He knew we would figure it out, so he probably waited for you to show Alex into the light, and then he had him changed back.

He made sure that when we would figure it out, Alex would be stronger than you.  He must have taught him everything he knows.  And I wouldn’t doubt it if he set up the attack on the kids, knowing I would change them or that he released the animals in King Anthony’s kingdom.  Now the only question is where he is?”
