Chapter 16 - campfire cuddles

" finally " Cameron shouted, now standing next to the fully built and decorated tents.
" you'd still be building it if it wasn't for Anna, Cameron " Weston smirked, sitting down in a chair next to the fire.
I chuckled, returning to organising the food with Olivia. I stopped when I felt someone tugging on my leg, and I looked down to see a happy looking Jayden.
" Anna? " He said, as I picked him up, resting him on my hip.
" yep Jay? " I replied.
" Can we play with the ball? " He asked, smiling and pointing towards the bag of toys and outdoor stuff we brought.
" Of course! " I laughed, walking over to the bag while I carried him, and pulling out a football.

Hunter, Blake, Tayler, Jayden and I were playing football, and it was really tiring. The boiling hot weather was making it ten times harder to play, but we pulled through and ended up having a lot of fun!
" guys, let's start up the barbecue " Joey suggested, and we all agreed.
" good plan Mr Birlem " Tayler winked, picking the ball up and putting it away.

Cameron and Grayson started cooking the food, while the rest of us sat and watched. Lazy, I know.
" We should do this every year, I'm already having a lot of fun " Ethan smiled, while taking a sip of coke.
I nodded, really liking the idea.
" yeah! Just imagine in ten years time... we nice all have kids, and we can bring them here with us all " Olivia said, grinning widely.
" just imagine all of our kids being bestfriends, and running around together " Blake said, and it made me laugh.
" Jayden will probably be that older brother figure, I'm guessing " I chuckled, making them laugh.
" How long have you and Gray been dating now? " Ariel asked.
" over two years " I sighed, where has the time gone?
" woahhh, when's he gonna but a ring on it then? " Hunter smirked, earning glares from everyone.
" What? " He raised a brow, soon slapping himself in the face and shrinking down into his seat.
" you guys are weird " I shook my head, chuckling as they all sat silently.

The smell of barbecues is one of my favourite things. It just makes me think of summer and I love everything about it. The flowers, the sun, the heat, the clothes, the vibes, just everything!
" Food's ready bitches!! " Grayson yelled, walking over with plates full of burgers, sausages, and all sorts of barbecue food.
" bitches? " Jayden repeated, as we all stared at him in complete shock.
" that's a bad word, don't say it " Kendall said, trying her best not to laugh.
" but Gray said it... why can't I? " Jayden asked, looking somewhat disappointed.
" Yeah but Gray is naughty, okay? " Weston said, holding his giggles in.
" I WANT BITCHES!!! " Jayden screamed, making us burst into fits of laughter.
He obviously meant that he wanted to say it, but that's not how it came across... poor Jayden ;)
He then stopped, and started smiling. Joey then picked him up and laughed.
" Just don't say it, alrighty? " Joey laughed.
" alrighty " Jayden repeated, making us giggle.
" mind your language next time " Cameron joked, punching Grayson's arm lightly.
Grayson nodded, placing the food down on the small table we'd brought. It smelt amazing, so well cooked and fresh.
" Chef Grayson!!! " Ashton cheered, taking a bite into his burger.
" why thank you Ash " Grayson smirked.
" This is actually really good though " Tayler complimented, and I'm guessing that made Gray feel quite proud.
That'll be Grayson bragging about his cooking for the next few days!
" could be better " Brandon joked, making me laugh.
" dick " Grayson murmured, loud enough for Brandon to hear.
" What happened to being good and not swearing? " Brandon smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.
Grayson shrugged, sitting down next to me and beginning to eat his food. It was the best barbecue food I've ever had, I'm not even kidding.

It was now around 9pm, and it had cooled down a lot. Don't get me wrong, you could still wear shorts and a crop top and be fine! But the cool breeze was a bit stronger, and it had gotten cooler since it was now night. The stars were shimmering throughout the sky, with the trees creating photogenic shadows in the distance. Our campfire crackled and sizzled, sparks and flames bursting out. Our tents were glowing, with the candles and fairy lights surrounding them. It was the perfect set up, and the perfect area.
" Where's Cam? " Ethan asked, as he held his hounds out in front of the fire to warm up more.
" He went to put Jay to bed " Sophie said, who was sitting beside Ashton still.
I'm guessing they hit it off, or I hope so :/
" get those marshmallows out!! " Brandon shouted, making me laugh.
I grabbed the packet of marshmallows, chucking them to him along with the stick.
He placed a few onto the metal stick, soon placing them over the fire carefully. We all did the same, toasting our marshmallows to perfection. I took an artsy photo on my phone, and added it to my Snapchat story since it looked pretty cute.

Grayson sat down beside me, placing his hand on my leg comfortingly. It made me feel ten times more safe, and I don't know how. I placed my small hand on top of his, cuddling closer to him as I sat wrapped up in a soft blanket. As soon as I rested my head on his shoulder, I closed my eyes, feeling a kiss being placed onto my head lightly.
" I love you " He whispered, and I smiled into his jumper.
" I love you too " I yawned, falling asleep in his arms by the warm campfire.
This couldn't get any better so far... or could it?

Quick message: I've had a few people asking about me writing smut, and how Anna and Grayson haven't done anything in their whole relationship. Let's say that they have, I just haven't wrote it. I don't like writing smut, and I never will... I'm fine reading it, but writing it makes me feel so awkward😂 They obviously have had sex and all that jazz, but I just don't want to write it!! You get me?😂💗 Love you guys X
