Trudging through a forest isn't a good idea if you aren't prepared. I don't exactly remember how I got here but I kept walking. Three monsters have been following me for the past week and I'm starting to think they might attack soon. I stop and sit next to a tree bringing a water bottle out. As I drink it I try to remember what I was doing in the first place. "Come on Layni...what did I need?" I say under my breath. The summer air is warm and sticky, and I would love to have some wind flow through here. The trees give nice shading, but it's not enough. All of a sudden, I hear a low growling sound that I know is not human. Quickly, I through my water bottle into my blue gym bag, and sling it over my shoulder. "I don't want any trouble!" I yell loud enough so whatever that thing was could hear me. The low growling continued so I thought of the best way to get out of a situation...run. I sprinted smacking my face on low hanging branches and my legs scrape against weeds causing them to bleed. Up ahead I see a force field looking wall and decide to test my chances against it. I ran right through it. Looking behind me I could clearly see the monster. It looked like a bull but it was running on two legs, and it had a diaper looking thing for pants. In his hand he held a giant spear which kinda freaked me out. Looking back ahead I saw a farm house with a bunch of cabins. There were strawberry fields off in the distance, and I wanted to just dive on them and devour all of them but I kept myself running. *SMACK* The next minute I was sprawled out on the ground groaning.
"Annabeth! Help the girl!" I heard someone yell. All around me I heard footsteps but my vision was blurring. I felt hands grab me and hoist me into a sitting position.
"Are you okay?" I heard a girls voice. I attempted to nod but the world was spinning. I heard a battle cry and the roar of the Minotaur. "What's your name?" I heard the same voice ask." My vision was starting to clear.
"L-Layni Mae Jackson." Is all I can make out.
"J-Jackson?" The girl asked. She had blonde hair and fierce grey eyes like mine. The guy that killed the monster walked up to the girl which I assumed he name was Annabeth.
"Are you alright?" He asked me. I nodded yes.
"She has the same last name as you Percy..." She whispered to him. It didn't work because I heard it anyway. I looked up at this so called Percy and he was staring right back at me weirdly.
"You look like me..." He said. Then all of a sudden, he gasped and fell back. Annabeth grabbed him.
"Percy! What's wrong?!" Annabeth asked keeping him upright.
"Layni Mae Jackson.... I thought her up.....in my head..." He said nervously. Suddenly, a huge shadow loomed over Camp Half-blood.
"Is that!?" A dark skinned girl pointed to the sky. I looked up and saw a massive ship with a...was that a dragon? As a headmast. A girl came running out of a nearby cabin screaming bloody murder. I wanted to strangle her but I kept quiet. On the ship there was a curly haired boy leaning against the wheel crying. The ship lowered itself until it was hovering only inches above the ground. The same dark skinned girl ran to the ship as the crying boy stepped down from it. "Leo Valdez I'm gonna strangle you!" She said as she hugged him. Percy and Annabeth walked up to this so called Leo and also hugged him.
"We thought you died!" Annabeth said as tears were pouring out of her eyes.
"I thought I did too honestly." Leo said his voice raspy.
"Are you okay? Why are you crying?" Percy asked. Leo took a deep breath before answering.
"I found my way back to Ogygia to find Calypso, only to find that she wasn't there at all. Someone must have loved her more than I did..." He said breaking down. Percy put his hand on Leos shoulder trying to comfort him. I don't know much about comforting. But THAT was not it. A pale dude wearing a aviators jacket hoisted me up and led me to the Infirmary without another word.
"You look like a freaking corpse." I told him. He grinned at me. "I mean, I guess that's a compliment coming from a Hades kid. Names Nico by the way." He said as he kept walking. "Layni." I told him as we entered the infirmary.
