Lexie's POV
I woke up in a hospital bed. What happened? I tried my best to dig into my memory but I couldn't find anything. Maybe it would come back with time?
"Hey," I heard the all too familiar voice of Meredith from the door frame. I looked over and saw her walk in wearing a hospital gown and and IV which she was wheeling behind her. She sat by my bed, and handed me the cup if water which I took a sip from.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Lexie we were in a plane crash."
That was when everything hit me. From flying out of the back of the plane as it broke off to distantly hearing Cristina yell about a lost shoe.
"Where's Cristina? And Derek?" I asked. "And Mark..." I trailed off. The events before the crash came flying at me. I saw an image of myself telling Mark how I truly felt about him and how much I loved him.
"Don't worry. Their all fine. You're fine, and I'm fine, and Derek's fine. We are all fine." I couldn't hear Meredith speak. I could only think abut what I said to Mark. I told him I love him. The words just flew out of my face.
"I told Mark," I said. Meredith looked at me with question in her eyes. "I told M-Mark that I love him." I felt like I was going to throw up, but no. I just broke down in tears, repeating the words to myself over and over again. "I told Mark I love him."
Meredith crawled into bed with me, positioning her IV so it wouldn't come out. She rubbed my back as I sobbed, wishing I were dead.
Mark's POV
I looked to my right to see the room across from me, which belonged to none other than Little Grey. I looked as she sobbed while Meredith comforted her. I wish I could have gone in their and have been the one to comfort her. I looked to my left and saw Julia. She was asleep in the corner. She insisted on staying with me through the night.
"Hey," she said as her tired eyes fluttered open. "How are you?"
"A little thirsty," I said. She brought over the cup of water and I took a sip.
"I want you to know that I'm staying here, Mark," Julia said. "I feel so bad, and you shouldn't have been out their on your own."
"Well I had Derek, Meredith, Cristina, Arizona, and Lexie," I said.
"Lexie was trapped under the plane and you were so heroic to stay with her," she said, "but now I'm staying with you. I don't want you to be alone." I looked back at Lexie, who had barely calmed down, and then back at Julia.
"Okay," I said. I squeezed her hand.
"I love you, Mark."
"I love you too."
Lexie's POV
"Just take a couple more steps," Callie encouraged. I was in my physical therapy two weeks after my surgery. I took another step, only to fall on my ass.
"I can't do it," I said, choking up.
"Lexie look at me," Callie said. "It's a miracle that you survived that crash. And let's not talk about the surgery. You should be dead right now, but you aren't which is incredible. You can't walk yet, but with time I know you'll be able to."
I nodded and got back up only to fall again. But after I fell again I got back up again. I eventually made it and could walk again, only with a cane of course.
