So normally id be more interested in writing supernatural based novels, but I've had a drastic idea change for a novel and decided that this could be fun to write. Preview (summary)

"I'd like a ticket to Boca Grande please." I informed the pristine and tidy looking women at the front desk of the terminal at the bus station as I glanced out the large front window watching the large drops of water fall to the ground of southport California.

"Here's your ticket m'am" the women, I glanced at her name tag, Lisa handed me my ticket and I picked my bag off the ground and slung it over my shoulder as I walked away to wait for the bus at the terminal opening.

"Boca Grande eh?" Stated a masculine voice from behind me.

I turned, my heads napping to see who had spoken as my eyes landed on a muscular boy around the age of eighteen with tanned skin of a surfer and brown muddy eyes with disheveled brown hair. He smirked at me, the side of his mouth turned and his pearly white teeth shone brightly. I couldn't help but think he must be from the rich end of town.

"Yeah....."I stated leaving my sentence open for interruptions. He nodded his head and smiled.

"You know that's across the state....why not go somewhere else? I hear a lot of people are going to Australia some sort of opening to a band is there with a festival." He remarked, his curiosity was obvious it dropped off his words when he spoke.

I chuckled and nodded as I tugged at the bottom of my hoodie, the hood up covering my long blonde hair that had gone white from the sun and the rest covered my tanned body that had gotten all it's colour from the days of surfing at the beach with friends.

"I have personal reasons...."I murmured and trailed off as I felt a vibration in the pocket of my jean shorts and pulled my iPhone out to see the caller ID "Ashton" i couldn't glance longer at the name for second before I immediately pressed decline and shoved it back in my pocket.

A good friend my ass....leaving me for that girl....he didn't care he never did he always liked her.....he was a shirt friend he didn't care.....he really just wanted to drag me down.....yet I still loved him.

"I also have family." I blurted as I looked the guy in front of me in the eyes. "There's some things you need to get away from and escape....so I'm going to see family this summer, it could be fun ya know?" I commented to the guy.

He nodded, "oh I know.....well have a good summer...?" He left the sentence open for my name and I interjected with "Alex" and he smiled and nodded as he murmured my name once.

"Alright, well have a good summer Alex....I hope you get what you want out of it." He said sincerely before waving and walking off to a bus that had pulled up.

I dropped into a seat by the doors of the terminal as I watched his back leave. I couldn't help but think two things as I watched the guy leave. First, I hadn't gotten his name, and second was that he had no idea that what I wanted was my best friend....who was already to gone for me to have.....

Alex Jones a sporty surfer blonde who has always managed to get what she wants through hard work. She had been friends with Ashton Kurtis since two when they had moved beside each other in the small town of southport by the beach, and she fell in love with him as they had grown up together. But Alex was always just the best friend to Ashton and as he explores his popularity with girls, parties and drinking, Alex knows she must get away from the boy who was breaking her heart and have her first summer alone in Boca Grande where her grandmother lives. But what happens when Alex meets the known mysterious bad boy who just seems to catch her attention? Or when she learns his past and becomes close? What happens when a close friend shows up on your getaway and gets involved. Alex needs to figure out if she can have the boy with a messed up past or her long loved best friend. Where Alex's summer turns out from there....well, your just gonna have to find out......
