I could hear voices, but I didn't understand what they were saying, and I didn't care either. Kaylie had lead me to an office and made me lay down on a couch, so here I am. I'm still confused about what's happening, but what I do know, is that there's some girl in the office with me talking on the phone with someone else. So I'm basically listening to a one-sided conversation at the moment. My eyes are closed so I'm guessing she thinks I'm asleep. I suddenly hear a door opening and closing, foot steps slowly coming closer to me before stopping. I feel a light tap on my shoulder so I hesitently open my eyes. It's Kaylie, she gives me a small, shy smile.
"H-Hey...How are you feeling t-today?" She asks.
"Cloudy." I answer for absolutely no reason at all.
Kaylie nods before pulling over a chair to sit by me, "C-C-Can you explain wh-what you mean?"
"I'm just, confused..." I slowly turn my head to the side so I'm facing away from her.
Kaylie goes silent for a moment, "I-I-If you h-have any...q-questions...I can tr-try to answer them the b-best I can...I'm h-here to help y-y-you."
I start with a simple question, "Where am I?"
"This is the Gr-GreenWood Psych-chiatric Hospit-tal." She answers.
"Okay..." I feel like I have so many questions, yet I have none at the same time, does that even make sense? I just find it difficult to think right now and I don't even know why, "...Uh, where's Ian....?"
"H-H-How is y-your head fe-feeling?" She asks.
I look at her slightly confused, "My head is fine? I think?"
She smiles at me, "Th-That's good! Are y-you comf-fortable with g-g-going back to your r-room?"
I slowly sit up and look over at the door, "I guess, but where's Ian?"
She once again completely ignores my question, I start to wonder if something bad happened to him, "W-We'll be moving y-y-you back into y-your old room i-if that's okay."
I don't say anything and try to stand up on my own, but Kaylie gently grabs my arm to help, which slightly annoys me. She seems really nice and all, but I honestly don't need THIS MUCH HELP. I can assure you I can stand on my own, no help required.
Kaylie keeps holding onto my arm and tries to lead me over to the door, she's too nice and shy for me to be rude or mean to her so I just let her do whatever. She opens the door and we both go out into the hallway, it looked pretty dark out there with a few lights on and only one or two nurses roaming around.
Kaylie lead me the whole way there, the room looking very familiar as we entered through the door.
"This looks...familiar." I decide to tell her instead of only stating that fact in my head.
"Th-That's very good t-t-to hear, that means th-the new med-dication is work-k-king." She looks at me and smiles shyly once again.
I don't want to trust her, but she looks so trusting, like the kind of person who would never lie to you and is never...judging.
"Thank you Kaylie." I say as soon as she let's go of my arm.
Kaylie looks up at me in surprise, her mouth making a cute little "Oh face" (A/N 0,0 like that, sorry if that doesn't make sense ._.) "Y-Y-Your welcome. You pr-probably want to b-b-b-be left al-alone, I'll be i-in the office, do y-you rem-m-memeber wh-where that is?"
I nod my head before she hesitently leaves me alone in the silent room. Not a single sound, either everyone is asleep in this damn hellhole, or they have sound proof walls that work amazing well. I look around the room before going over to the single bed and sitting down.
I feel like I'm forgetting something.
Or...someone.
Slowly looking down at the floor, I start to swing my legs slightly to some what entertain myself, and pass the time. It didn't take long for this to become boring. To be honest, I prefer to sleep with lights on than in the dark, but here it looks like I have no choice as I look around for a light switch, and fail to locate one.
"The darkness isn't that bad."
I yelp at the voice beside me and jump up, unfortunately tripping and landing on my face. I assure you that the floor does NOT need hugs from my face, but the floor apparently says otherwise.
"Hm, clumsy as always I see."
I look over to see who the voice belongs to, relieved to see the familiar face of Sshadee sitting on my bed not even caring to look down at me.
"You know, watching you faceplant might be amusing, but I am here to actually talk, so I recommend getting up. And by all means, take your time, no need to worry about any nurses for quite awhile." He says.
I'm about to say something, but decide it's probably best to keep my mouth shut and quickly get back up on the bed.
"Wait, what do you mean, I don't need to worry about nurses for awhile?" I finally say something to him.
"I meant, the nurse will not be coming to check on you anytime soon." He explains, glancing at me.
I blink slowly at him, still confused about what he means, "Why, what happened to the nurse?" Not that I care, I was just curious.
"I ate her." He says completely deadpanned.
I slowly move away from him before laughing quietly, thinking it's a joke.
"Mmm, you think I'm joking."
He's serious!?
"You actually ate someone...?" I shiver at the thought.
"What happened to you?" He asks, looking away.
His question confused me, I didn't really know how to answer him, so I didn't.
After a few minutes of silence, Sshadee slowly leans back on the bed, arms resting over his stomach. I don't know why, but I leaned back and laid down right beside him.
"You're small." He says quietly, I turn my head to the side to see him, "We're all so small. The world is just way too...big. Is that why humans think it's so scary? Heh, they're scared and they don't even realize how big it actually is. I don't like being small, I always thought if I'm taller, or "bigger" than all my problems then there's nothing to be afraid of, right?"
What's going on right now...are we having a moment or something?
"You're tired." As soon as he says this I start yawning.
"How did you-"
He suddenly cuts me off, "Go to sleep, you need it."
"What about you?" I ask before, unfortunately, yawning again.
"I am not allowed to sleep here." He says, slowly getting up and looking down at me.
"If you "ate" the nurse then I'm sure they won't mi-"
He cuts me off again, which slightly annoys me, "That is not what I meant." Without warning, he moves me so that I'm laying on the bed correctly and pulls the blanket up to my shoulders, "I'll see you tomorrow."
I was suddenly too tired to even move so I decided to just close my eyes and try to sleep like he said. Before I fell asleep I could feel him kiss my forehead, opening my eyes half way to see if he was still there afterwards, but strangely...he was already gone.
