[your name] POV
I sit, waiting in my seat. The boys are late. How unusually. I look back and forth between my friend, the stage and the bag of goodies I got the boys.
"It's been 15 minutes. I hope they are okay!" I finally say to my friend.
"Relax, they should be here soon..." Just as she began to speak, a lady came out with a mic.
"Hey guys, I am sorry for the wait. The boys got stuck in traffic but, they should be here in 5-10 minutes." The lady bowed and left, leaving us all to groan. Then, my friend got up in her chair and spoke to the crowd.
"It's okay guys, my friend here [your name] said he would sing for us while we wait!"
"What are you doing?" I whispered to my friend.
"Helping you get recognized, you have a good voice!" She whispered. "He's a bit shy so, everyone give him a round of applause!!" Everyone began to clap and cheer. "You'll thank me!"
I got up and picked up the ukulele I had bought for Jin. Everyone looked kind of excited. As I move to the front of the room, the lady from before came back with a mic and stand.
"Thanks for doing this, we appreciate it!" she said and gave me thumbs up before leaving. Everyone murmured in excitement.
"What.. um song should I sing?" I ask the crowd.
"Spring day!"
"Not Today!"
"Junjou Romantica Opening 3!!" I look to see who said that in the crowd. A bunch of us Otakus gasp, so I return the request with an anime meme.
"Ah, I see you are a man of culture as well." The crowd laughs. "In Korean or Japanese?" I ask.
"Do it in Japanese!!" screamed the crowd.
"Alright!"
(here is the song if you don't know what it is, I thought it would sound best with a ukulele)
As I sang, I could see the crowd enjoy it, and it gave me more confidence. I finished the song without any mistakes. Everyone stands and cheers and as I give a bow, I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist. Then, the person whispers in my ear:
"Nihongo wa jyouzu desu ne" (means, "You're pretty good at Japanese)
Hey guys, I hope you enjoy this story. I know this Japanese came off of google translate cause, I haven't really learned how to speak it yet so, if you know the right way of saying this, let me know down below! :)
Edit: I changed what the "person" says in Japanese in the end as someone on AO3 had given me the proper way it should have been said! :)
