UNEDITED
Looking through the bus's window, Lily couldn't help but feel cold. She could still feel the blood on her hands even though she knew that they were clean now. She wanted to run, go to another country, heck another planet would be perfect. Her aunt by her side, in the world of dreamland, she couldn't help but pray that she will stay alive. After watching her almost entire family die, her aunt Christina was her only relative left.
Tonight was the night she will become the phoenix, a mythical creature that has powers beyond rulers of any kind. Her mission will be to create and maintain peace between any kind no matter what cost it comes with. She will have to fight until her death. Her whole life was dedicated towards this mission. Her mission. She has been raised so she could lead the world into peace instead of war. She was design for that particular quest.
The only thing was that she was special. Her powers are getting stronger and stronger and it is sometimes hard to control them. That's why Lily became shy, isolated, not very social and scared of herself. Her heart was too kind to hurt anybody. She was kind and helpful. She would barely raise her voice and anger wasn't part of her character.
Her mind wondered to what happened few days ago. Her hands on her mother's chest, trying to restart her heart. But all she could see was blood. She spends at least two hours, her hands on her mother's chest, doing the same movement with failure. However it didn't work. When she finally come to the conclusion that her mother was dead, she did not let any tear fall. Lily buried her mother in the garden at her mother's favorite place. She then washed her hands several time as well as her body. She changed clothes before calling her aunt to meet her at the bus station before picking up her backpack which was filled with clothes, her computer and books. Without turning back she left her mother, her house and her childhood.
She shook her aunt gently, waking her up so they could get out of the bus. Once outside, both of them shivered while walking quickly towards an ancient and luxurious building. A majordom was waiting outside for them."Good evening Miss Rose and the Phoenix" he said looking at Lily's aunt when he pronounced the word phoenix.
"Actually, I'm Miss Rose and Lily is the phoenix" responded her aunt before entering the building, ignoring the majordom shocked face.
"Aunt Rose, be nice, please" whispered Lily looking at her shoes. She was more than embarrassed.
"Yeah yeah."
"This way ladies" said the majordom finally getting back from his shock. They walked for a bit before getting into an elevator. Everything screamed wealth and Lily didn't feel at her place. Especially with her used converse, jean and black oversized sweat. Her family wasn't exactly what you call rich. You would use the word poor but Lily hated the word and used instead modest because that creates less pity in other's eyes. Getting on the twentieth floor, her aunt and her were surrounded by mostly men and only one woman. All the eyes were on Lily and Rose. One look was particularly more intense than everyone one else. He was tall and so handsome. His hair and eyes were an intense black matching his suit. He was tall and fit without being bulky. Everything in him screamed danger, mystery and power. He was the alpha of alphas for sure. Looking back at her shoes, she couldn't stop the blush creeping on her cheeks.
"So which one is the Phoenix?" said one the men with a high voice that made Lily flinch. He was the Master of all masters in the vampire community.
"Me" she said with a barely audible voice although she knew that they all heard her because of their heightened hearing. A sea of gasps was her and she raised her head when her aunt nudged her with her arm.
"But you are only a child my dear"said the women, the queen of witches and wizards with a soft tone.
"Yes, you couldn't possibly do the job" spoke the vampire.
"I think we should all sit down and talk instead of scaring her"
It was him. He spoke for the first time and weirdly his voice brought shivers on Lily's body. That was weird, she thought. They all followed his command without a word. He was seated beside her, on her right while her aunt was on her left. Both of the head of vampire and witch were in front of her. Breathing deeply, she started the conversation.
"I was born a phoenix which surprised everyone in my family because you usually become a phoenix at the age of twenty. But not me. My mom was supposed to stay phoenix for 3 more years but she died two days ago." her voice was gentle, calm and not loud.
"I'm sorry darling" apologized the witch, her blue eyes wet with tears.
"It's alright Madame Genevieve. Since I was born a phoenix, my family decided to educate me at an early age about the supernatural world. My aunt Rose was the one teaching me all I needed to know."
The witch was shocked that the little girl knew her name so was the master of vampire. The alpha of werewolf didn't seem surprise, more like bored.
"But you are still young and such a beautiful darling should be enjoying her youth" said the vampire a wicked smile on his pale face while his red eyes scanned her from head to toe, giving an approval nod.
"That's why i'll be with her, guiding her until her twentieth birthday. I can assure you that my niece is more mature and grown up than what you think."
"What happens when she finds her mate?" asked Alpha Thedor, Alpha of alphas.
"The war will begin if she is mated to a wizard, a werewolf or a witch. Humans don't count." said Madame Genevieve.
"I beg you pardon?" said Lily outraged.
"Well of course my dear. If you're mate is a vampire you will privileged the vampire community. Consciously or not."
"I will not do so. My private life has nothing to with my mission. It's inevitable that i'm mated to one of your kind." she said looking at all three of them before breathing deeply. " I know that your hatred for each other, between your kind is now present in your blood. But, in any case, my private or love life has nothing to do with my mission."
"That's what i'm talking about ! exclaimed Master Daniel, while standing up. "You my darling are too young to understand the value of our kind. Your mother would have understood! You are not fit for this mission!".
Fire appeared around him in circle that was coming closer to him, almost burning him. His face was one suffering of torture. Vampire hated anything light and fire was deadly for them. Lily was now standing up, opposed to him.
"Don't you dare say a word about my mother. She would have never sacrificed her family for this mission because both has nothing to do with this mission. Am I clear Master Daniel?" lily's voice was deep with power and intensity.
"Yes. Yes. Stop it."
In a second, the fire was gone and Master Daniel coughing while Madame Genevieve was looking at Lily in atoshinement.
"I'll visit each of your kingdom for a time of a month each to see the roots of the problem and find a solution that will benefit each of your community without creating a war. The war is not the solution, it only brings misery and destruction. You of all people should know that better than anyone else. Now who wants my visit first?"
"Mine"
