"I don't think it's a good idea-" Elijah began.
"Yes, I just nearly collapsed on the floor, screaming to what seems like nobody, but I'm sane, and I'm not resting until Sophia and Gabe come back!" I announce, happy with our lead.
"Me too!" Chloe jumped next to me.
"I'll get the Tardis and warm it up then." Elijah still seemed unsure, but there was no stopping us now.
Once we all boarded the Tardis, I took a good look around. Before the mansion, we had all lived in here. Although I love the mansion, I missed hearing Elijah mess with the gears in the engine room, or turning into a mermaid and taking a dip in the library. Of course we had weird memories here too, like the time a bunch of Furbies nearly killed me and Elijah had to save my life. Good times.
"Where to?" Elijah asked.
"Detroit." I answered as I stroked the Tardis with Mary. It seemed to purr under my hand.
"Detroit is huge, Anji." Mary said.
"All I know is that it was in a warehouse." I said.
"Oh, that's helpful."
"Would you rather sit back in the mansion and have no leads whatsoever?"
"Oy! No fighting." Harry yelled.
"Detroit it is." Elijah muttered, pressing a few buttons.
Soon, we arrived. It was dark out, and no one was around.
"Be careful, everyone." I whispered.
Elijah took my hand and we walked out of the Tardis.
"Should we split up in pairs?" I ask.
"We'll need a way to contact one another if we find them." Harry pointed out.
"I can do it. Just give me something of yours." Mary said.
Chloe and Harry handed over their fedoras, Elijah his Adams Marching Band baseball hat, Lucas his beanie, my charm bracelet, and Sherlock his scarf.
The pile of our possessions glowed a bright, brilliant blue, and returned to their normal state.
"I highly advise you don't lose these." Mary said. "They could be objects that hold you from life and death."
"You're a ray of sunshine, aren't you?" I mutter as I snap my bracelet in place. "Sherlock and Mary, you're a group, Lucas, Chloe and Harry, and I'll be with Elijah. Does that work?"
They nodded.
"And how do these contact spells work?"
"Talk into the object and we'll all hear you. Kind of like walkie talkies, but these are magical and therefore 85% cooler." Chloe smirked.
I nodded. "Lets split like ice cream."
•••
Lucas, Harry and Chloe walked in a wet, smelly alley in between two buildings. Harry and Chloe led the way, hands intertwined.
Lucas accidentally tripped over his feet, creating a scuffling noise.
"Lucas, shh!" Chloe looked behind her and glared.
"Sorry, sorry."
Soon, he accidentally kicked a tin can, which created a large clang noise as it hit the building next to them.
"Lucas, shush!" Harry ordered without looking back.
"I'm sorry!" He whispered.
A little while after that, a large popping noise was heard. Now both Harry and Chloe whirled around, glaring at Lucas.
"Lucas! Shh!" They whisper yelled in unison.
"It wasn't me this time! I swear it!"
"What was it then?" Chloe asked.
Lucas' eyes widened as he pointed to whatever lay behind Harry and Chloe. They turned, and their eyes widened too.
Three demons, smiling hungrily, looked back at them. The poor humans they had used as vessels! One had darker hair and skin, a tall and lanky build, and was balancing a fireball in his hands. The other two had lighter skin. One has brown hair, the other was dyed a light blue color. From the look of those two, they could have been twins.
"Demons? We can handle a couple of demons." Harry revealed his tentacles.
Lucas' magical ring glowed blue. "Last chance to run away, guys." He looked at the demons, talking to them.
They stepped closer.
"Alright. You wanna fight?" Chloe asked, pulling out her runes. "Let's dance."
