"JACK! Wake up!" Jesse shook Jack awake.
"Ugh! Why do I have to wake up so early?" Jack groaned.
"Because today we are at the age of Becoming, so now we can go to the Beyond!"
"Why are you always like that, Jessie?"Jack said.
"Like what...?" Jesse asked.
"So happy and always looking at the bright side of things. "Jack said with a questioning face.
"Because that's how I am." Jessie said with a smug look on her face. "Now, let's head to the train, or we won't get to go through the gate, and we'll have to wait another year to go." Jessie said, pulling Jack out of bed.
"Fine! Let's go... but first, we need to go buy a crossbow from the merchant, just in case if we ever run into a Beast like the Titan Wing or the Shredded Scorpion of-"
"Okay I get it! Let's go to the merchant." Jessie interrupted, walking out the door pulling Jack's arm.
"Wait! What about brreeeaaakfaastt...!?!", Jack said, having to run while Jessie was pulling him in order not to fall down.
They entered the merchant's shop, gawking in awe of the hundreds of weapons on display.
"Wow! Look at this baby! It shoots so fast! Let's get it." Jack said with a joyful smile.
"That will be one hundred and fifty gold, please." The merchant said with a greedy grin.
"What!?! That much? Okay, fine. Here you go." Jack gave the gold reluctantly.
With Jack's brand-new crossbow in his hands, Jessie and Jack left to go on the train to the gate.
After a 3-hour long train ride, Jack and Jessie finally arrived at the gate.
"Finally we're at the gate! Let's not waste any time, and let's go." Jessie said eagerly.
Then all of a sudden...
BOOM!
BOOM!
The gate cracked, then exploded. A Terrorhead burst out. Jack drew his crossbow, turned on multi-shot, and with a carefully aimed shot, three crossbow bolts ended up in the Terrorhead's eye. With a howl of pain, the Terrorhead blindly limped back to the den.
"Alright everyone! It is now safe to go to the Beyond. Please, please be careful." The guard said, trying to act normal and not like he was about to wet his pants.
"What are you waiting for? Let's go." Jack said calmly, trying to act like he didn't care that he just blinded a Terrorhead, one of the most powerful Beasts ever. In reality, he was organizing his victory parade in his head.
With a stunned expression, Jessie numbly followed Jack out the hole in the wall caused by the Terrorhead and into the Beyond.
