Over five thousand years ago the gods ruled over the earth. The mortal world prayed for their salvation and all was glorious. Until the fateful day when a mortal woman decided to challenge the gods. Arachne declared that she was better than Athena at weaving. Having very little knowledge of weaving herself Arachne obviously lost. Athena having been challenged by a mortal was not happy so she turned Arachne into a spider.
Arachne despised the gods for they turned her into a hideous beast. To exact her revenge Arachne reproduced millions of spiders to avenge her. Her spider children however followed their eldest sister, the first spider child to be born, Acuma instead. Acuma knew of her mother's challenge for the goddess and felt that her mother got what she deserved. She kept her siblings at bay and never allowed them to take on their mothers mortal vengeance. Her reward from the gods was immortality among the stars.
