Locked Away

Ten

         Walking into my garage I get a huge smile in my face. Once we reach Test #200 I am able to do the final test before releasing it. I go through the tests pretty quick. I got 16 done before my timer went off to go to work. I take off my lab coat and walk out the door. Grabbing my actual coat off of the couch I notice a slip of paper near my phone. "It's my # Girl!! <3
from: you know Who" Of course I know it's Liam! He's the only one who writes like that. He cracks me up. I grab my phone and go into my car. I put his number in my phone then place the phone in my purse. I drive off as my mind wanders to Liam.

        Liam has been with me since 10th grade. Him, Lilly, and I have always been together since then. We took him in after he kept getting bullied because of the way he acts sometimes. He got called faggot, gay, dick-loving moron, you name it. It really broke my heart, so I helped him out some and in return he gave me his best advice for practically everything. He's super smart, even though you wouldn't really be able to tell. The last time we saw each other was at the engagement party for Lilly and Michael. They had that three years ago. I hadn't seen or even talked to Liam since then. I really missed him. Lilly did too. We had several conversations about him, ones that often took up hours of our time.

        I pull up to work and hop out of my car. I run inside and right as the clock stricks five I run into my boss. "Hmm... I guess that counts as you being on time. Get to work," she says with a slight annoyance in her voice. I do exactly as she says and put my things down in the back room. Pulling on my apron I feel somebody come up behind me and hug me. "Hey Kimmy!" says Nicole. I flinch a little.
"Um, could you just call me Kim or Kimberly? I... I don't like Kimmy," I say as recollection appears within my eyes.
"Oh yeah. Of course. So did you find anything weird in your purse last night or this morning?" I immediately know what she's talking about and get red-faced.
"Yeah. I did. Wait, did you know he was gonna do that?" I say with curiosity.
"Well duh. I was right beside him when he wrote it. It was pretty plain actually, but he insisted that it was perfect," she says with a small sigh.
"Ladies," I hear Hollie say. "Get. To. Work." We both scramble past her to avoid a possible lecture about how horrible employees we are.

        I man the cash register while Nicole and Julie take orders. Julie then comes up to me and asks if we could switch because her back hurts. (Freaking Julie am I right guys?) I agree with a large sigh and take the notepad. I work that station for about two hours before my break. I hand the notepad to Jeremy, another coworker, and head into the back room. I pass Hollie and she stares me down as I point to the clock. She rolls her eyes and I keep going. I sit on the crappy couch back there and pull out my phone and wait it out. After my break I continue the day like normal. Of course, 10 o'clock rolls around and Shawn comes in. We talk for a little, but he doesn't say anything about the note. I don't either, so I suppose it's all good. We both leave and I make my way home.

        As soon as I get home I go into the garage. I have 5 more tests with inanimate objects before I can do the main test. I take my time until we reach test number 200. I get giddy when I realize this and take deep breaths. I set everything down and walk to the left Arch. I push a few buttons on the panel in order for a timer to start. I then walk onto the platform and yell, "Test number 2001! Begin!" Right after I saw begin the bright light falls my eyes and I can't see. It stays like that for several seconds until everything goes dark and numb.

Heeheehee told you guys I would give you guys something good for the 10th chapter!! I wonder what happened to Kimberly... Oh wait! I already know (。┰ω┰。)
