I found you once.

It was cold, but I knew no different.

Yet I lingered in the knowledge of a warmer existance.

I searched for your warmth, all the days of my life.

Through all the happiness, through all the strife.

I searched in the mountains, I searched in the trees.

I searched the valleys and great seas.

You were no where to be found.

Why did you hide from me?

But I found you, one day in the field.

In the grasses that tall flowers yield.

You were warm, you were bright.

You were so beautiful in my sight.

You were the light of summer.

You were the warm sun.

I found you, summer. And I loved you.

No other fact was ever so true,

That I loved you with all my heart.

Not even autumn could bring us apart.

And you shon upon me,

And so I was complete.

But I watched, as your rays moved away.

I waited as my heart moved astray.

The trees began to wilt, and the warmth was gone.

That great warm smile, now there was none...

And summer, you left.

You returned to the fields from which I had found you.

As every day became colder,

And the wonderful memories became older.

The cold set in, and the snow came.

I was forgetting it all, all but your name.

All I knew during the cold was,

the hope of warmth returning.

But it did not, it never again came.

And I was never quite the same.

For you had left, and nothing remained.

I knew you could never be tamed.

But I felt the loneliness bite deep.

And the wondering began anew.

Why did you go?

Why did you allow the snow?

I thought you would stay forever.

I thought your beauty would be lost to me, never.

I cannot search for you any longer.

For you do not wish to be found.

The cold snow falls now.

Icy pain, reminding me,

that spring still exists.

But will I ever find it...?
