AN: just friends days. :)

James felt light. It was as if he is floating in water.

Suddenly, something cold touched his face and it jolted him. He realized he had been asleep.

Slowly, he opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was her.

"You're a bit warm." She said; her hand caressing his cheek.

James ignored her comment and said instead, "You're finally here."

Nadine laughed.

"Sorry I'm late." She said even though she wasn't. James just got there first. "Are you okay? You look terrible." She asked worriedly.

James just shook his head, silently telling her not to worry. They were in QC right now, filming day for their serye. Nadine frowned and made to move her hand from his cheek but James held it in place.

"I'm fine. Just tired. Your hand is cold." He told her.

James tried to sit up but then groaned. His body felt sore all over.

"It's not my hand. You're just warm. You haven't slept till now, have you? Ate Ca said your endorsement shoot took more than twelve hours." Nadine commented.

"I haven't had a proper sleep for a while." James admitted. "Like you." He added. It was one of the things that makes their tandem strong. They've been with each other from the start. They've been through a lot and they understand each other cause they went through the same experiences together. Whatever James feels, he knew Nadine felt the same. They were more than just a love team, they were partners in crime.

"Your back must be aching, lying down for so long." She said, looking at James.

"Could you remove your shirt?" She asked.

James didn't really know what Nadine is going to do, but he trusted her so he did what he was asked (trying not to to wince while doing so).

Nadine then asked him to lie down on his face. He obliged, feeling a bit better with the change of position.

Nadine started gently massaging his shoulder and lower back. She rather have soft hands, but she knew where to pinch and it just felt great and reliving.

"You're heaven sent..." James sighed, his voice a bit muffled. He heard Nadine laugh.

"Where did you learn this?" He asked.

Nadine shrugged, and then realized James couldn't see her and so said, "From this and that... Alam ko mahina kamay ko, though. Am I really helping?"

"Yeah..." James trailed off.

James was quiet for a while as Nadine continues her ministrations. And then without warning, he sat up, facing Nadine.

"Please tell me you do have someone to take care of you when you're tired." James said, realizing Nadine probably learned where it hurts and how to relieve the pain from her own experiences. It was obvious. They were always very busy and she's probably more used to exhaustion than even James but that just makes James more worried. Nadine do tend to rely on no one but herself. She hates showing weakness to anyone.

Nadine just shrugged. "There's Enzo. And when he's not around, I take painkillers." She said indifferently.

James frowned at her. It was just as he expected. "Don't work yourself too hard." He scolded.

Nadine laughed. "This is coming from you?" She teased, even as James's frown deepen. This was the usual James. He's very caring to everyone he consider his friends, but not many see this side of him and he always gets misunderstood.

"I try not to, I promise." She hastily said. James's face was becoming severe. "But you know how it is. We really can't help it. This is an important time for us."

James sighed in defeat. "Yeah, I know..." He said in ponder, still frowning.

"Tell you what, when I feel lousy and I know you're free, I'll call you and you can return the favor." She said.

James sighed and finally smiled, nodding. It really was the most he could do. "Okay. Call me even if it's in the middle of the night."

"If it's our day off." Nadine said.

"Fine." James said.

"Fine." Nadine said in return. "Now lie back down. Maya-maya lang tatawagin na tayo." She ordered.

"Fine..." James said, laughing.

----

Nadine sighed when she felt his hands massaging her shoulder.

"I love you..." She said, closing her eyes in relief.

James chuckled.

"You remember you used to do this to me?" He asked her.

"Huh? Did I? Prolly didn't help you much, did it? Di ako marunong e." She said with a giggle.

"No." James said and Nadine can hear his smile in his voice. "I really like it when you try to take care of me. Even when we were just friends then." He said.

"The word there is 'try'." Nadine said, now laughing. "So walang kwenta nga masahe ko?"

"Actually, I really felt relieved whenever you did it. Though it might have more to do with me liking the feeling of you taking care of me." James said sheepishly.

Nadine turned to look at him, smiling.

She gave him a quick kiss and said, "And you keep saying I fell in love first."

James ignored that. "You never did call me before. You said you would." He said.

"Don't worry about it. You've return the favor a million times over."

END.

AN: kinda ooc. but i've always thought about this. James and Nadine has always been used to being the one who takes care of others. They're both breadwinners, they're both independent, they're both very giving. So I thought, when they became friends, it must have been something new to them to have someone take care of them. I remember how James just can't forget the little things Nadine does for him and how Nadine always always insisted that James is a gentleman and is always there for her. I think it's one of the things that made their partnership worked. And one of the things that made them special to each other even just as friends.
