They get transported back to the Medieval Ages: knights, kings, peasants and fear of magic awaits.
For the demiogods it happens just after Dr Thorn captures them (Chapter One, Percy Jackson and The Titan's Curse).
For the witches and wizards it happens on the Hogwarts Express (Chapter Eleven, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire).
