After Mary has given Lydia to Apollo, she and Sherlock left the Tardis to look for Sophia and Gabe. Dark, musty, eerie cities did not faze her, nor Sherlock. They have had many encounters in these places before. However, something seemed off, and it made the hair on her arms stand up.
"Warehouses... warehouses..." She muttered as she looked at all the buildings. She had been to Detroit many times, but she saw no familiar landmarks here, and no one was to be seen. That was different.
She heard a clattering noise and spun around, raising her hands towards the commotion. It had come from an old abandoned building, with graffiti on the walls and boards in the windows.
"You heard it too, Bunny?" Sherlock asked.
She nodded. "Let's go. Stay close, keep your scarf on you."
They walked to towards the door, and she took ahold of the strong iron handle, opening it slowly.
"Bunnyyyyy!" Suddenly, a trapdoor opened under Sherlock, and he plummeted into oblivion!
"Sherlock!" Mary yelled, but he was gone. Nothing but pure darkness. Should she jump after him? She tucked her newly dyed blue and purple hair behind her ear. Sherlock wouldn't want her to jump, he'd want her to keep going.
She walked on, a small part of her regretting her decision.
Entering the building, she saw more graffiti, and a couple of fat rats scramble across the floor. She shuddered.
"Ah, Mrs. Holmes." Came a deep, surly voice. Mary spun around. There was Micheal, his hands clasped together, composed nicely, a small smile playing over his lips.
"Micheal." Mary muttered. "Where's Sherlock?"
"Somewhere where he is unable to hear us."
"Micheal I swear I'll-"
"Oh hush, I'm not going to hurt him. I wanted to talk with you, my niece."
Mary frowned. "For being my uncle, you don't talk to me much. What do you want?"
He snickered. "Your alliance."
"What?"
"Mary, if Sophia has kids with my brother, all hell will break loose. They'll be so powerful and practically destroy the world the minute they appear in it. In fact, I've already recruited one of your members of your little group of superheroes."
Mary didn't believe that for a minute. "We'd never betray Sophia or Gabe. Who?"
"That's for me to know, and for you t find out if you want to help me. I'll kill Sophia, wipe Gabe's memories, then we can all eat the wedding cake that won't be served for his marriage."
"The very idea makes me sick." Mary crossed her arms defiantly.
"Fine, have it your way. The world will end, and I'll have all of you to blame."
"Where is my husband?"
Sherlock ran in, looking breathless. "Bunny, you're okay!" He embraced his wife.
"Where did that trapdoor lead?" Mary asked Micheal.
"A dark room, with a complex lock. I knew he could deduct it quickly, but I also knew if you had taken up my offer, you would have before he reached you."
"Offer? What offer?" Sherlock asked.
Micheal walked over to a rope that hung from the ceiling. "The offer she refused, which means you have to stay in this magical cage until I've finished my plan."
"What cage?" Mary asked slowly.
Micheal smirked and pulled the rope.
A large, gray cage fell on top of the Holmes'. "Micheal!" Sherlock yelled. "What is this?"
"Shame, niece. If it had accepted my offer, you could have saved your daughter from a future that holds impending doom and treacherous, hopeless battles for you to fight."
Mary was speechless. She watched at Micheal left the there, turned a corner, and left them in a magically binding cage.
