CHAPTER 11
MERCEDES POV
"Mercedes, I have to tell you something." Hayes said scratching the back of his neck.
"Yeah Hayes?" I said hoping it wouldn't add on to my stress,
"Well, my mom was looking for somewhere new, to live."
My heart dropped
"Your moving?"I said disappointed
"Well, we don't know for sure yet. But we put a offer on a house, In Canada." He put his head down.
"Canada!" I practically screamed.
"Yeah, if we get it, we will be moving in 2 weeks." He said sadly.
"Your frickin kidding me." I said sassily
"No, I wish I could stay here." He said
"Can't you stay with your dad?!" I asked
"No, I already asked my mom she said I can't." He said as putting his head down
We walked in awkward silence the rest of the way to the beach, once we got there we hardly talked. Hayes went in the water for a bit and never came back.. It was about half an hour until I started freaking out.
"Hayes?" I asked to see if he was out of the water.
No respond
"Hayes!" I yelled getting up from lying down
Still no response
Brent called and asked where we were, I told him about Hayes and in a minutes him,Nash and Pyper were here.
"Where's Hayes?" Nash asked confused
"I don't know he never came back up!" I told him
Before I knew it Nash took off his pants, shoes and shirt and was only in his boxers.. He jumped into the ocean and started looking for Hayes. Shortly after Brent did the same.
"So." Pyper said trying to break the silence. I just glared at her and started looking for Hayes.
A big wave came and pushed out Nash and Brent. They were on the other side of the beach. That same wave came a few minutes ago when Hayes went missing.
What if that's how Hayes went missing? Did a wave take him away? Did he swim away?
All these thoughts made a few tears fall from my face. It was about 10:20pm once Brent and Nash came out.
"We can't find him." Brent stated
"What are we gonna tell my parents!?" Nash asked
"I don't know!?" Pyper slightly yelled
"What are we gonna do about Hayes?" I asked
As I asked I saw a figure in the ocean, it looked like Hayes. I dropped everything I had in my hands and ran towards it,
It was in the middle of the ocean
I started swimming towards it when I realized Nash, Brent and Pyper were calling my name, I still ran towards it. I couldn't see where I was going because my eyes were filled with tears.. I started hearing something calling my name.
It was Hayes
Hayes, he was the one in the ocean, he was the one I was running towards. Once everyone else noticed that that was Hayes they came running too. Once we all got there Nash and Brent carried him out. We got to the beach and went straight home. I got home and lied in bed, thinking about today.
Hayes maybe moving to Canada
Pyper staying at 'the cabin'
Hayes almost drowning.
Alyssa texted me during this thoughts.
A-Hey
M-hey
A-I heard what happened today,Are u okay?
M- yeah it might take a little while to get use to, but I'll be okay.
A-okay if u need anyone to talk to, I'm here!😊
M-thanks Alyssa, I gtg to bed nite💤
A-nite
I plugged in my phone and started thinking about Canada. I just moved from Canada, and now Hayes is moving to Canada. What if he meets Megan what if they fall in love?
I decided to text Hayes
M-hey
H-hey
M-you okay
H-yeah
M-did u tell u parents?
H-nah Nash just went to his room and acted chill about it.
M-oh. So do u know anymore about Canada.
H- yeah.
M- so are you moving?
