Steveo
I came back to the band house after going out to grab a few things. I was recognized and almost mauled by a few fans, because I didn't even try to hide my identity, even though I should. I walked into the house, only to be met by Dan, standing right in front of me, as though he was just waiting for me to come home.
“Steve, we need to talk.”
“Dan, you sound you're breaking up with someone.”
“No, I mean we all have to talk. As a band. As a family.”
With that, he grabbed me, and started pulling me towards the basement. I noticed the rest of the guys were already there, being kept, I presume, by Bladen, who was standing at the entrance, glaring. Now any of us could physically take her on, (well, maybe not Beattie) but one does not mess with an angry Bladen.
“Now that every one is here, I believe Dan has something he needs to say.” she said, giving Dan a pointed look.
“Guys, I didn't want to say this, but I have no choice. Don't interrupt me. First off, Kyle, lately the fighting between you and Ali has been ridiculous. Every time she comes over, or you hang out with her, you two wind up almost tearing each others head off. I think we all want to know why you think she is cheating on you, and how this can stop.”
Kyle started to protest, but was cut off by Dan.
“Steveo, I understand that your break-up with Rona was harsh, and unexpected, but it has been 2 months. I think it's time to find you a new girlfriend.”
I spoke.
“Who? Who would ever go out with me? Rona was the only girl for me.”
Kyle spoke up.
“I saw texts on Ali's phone, she was talking to this guy named Eric. Not a relative, and more than a friend.”
“How do you know that, Kyle?” I asked.
“You guys remember when we made the trip to Kirkland Lake?”
Everyone mumbled stuff sounding like yes, or yeah.
“ Well, apparently, during that time, those two hooked up the entire time we were gone.”
Kyle was now shaking, partially from fury, and I think partially from sadness. He really loved Ali. Those two had been flirting forever, and he really thought she'd always be the one for him.
“Kyle, I can't believe she would do that to you. Are you sure?” asked Bladen.
“Bladen, if I'm seeing graphic pictures from another guy on my girlfriends phone, what do you think?”
A collective gasp could be heard coming from everyone in the room.
“Yeah. So how do I fix this, without looking like a complete idiot?”
We all tried thinking of ideas, but no one said anything.
Bladen shouted out:
“Seriously you guys? He just needs to beat her at her own game. Find a new girlfriend before breaking up with her. But it can't just be someone you pick up at the bar.”
“Okay then Miss Smarty Pants, where do you suppose I find a new girlfriend?” Kyle retorted.
“Easy. You guys leave for tour in a bit, right? Find a fan that loves you, but isn't too obsessed.”
“Maybe we could all do that.” I said.
“Obviously not Beattie, but if we all found girlfriends on tour.” I said before Bladen could shoot me a major death glare.
Stephen said.
“Maybe you have a point... Melanie has always had the hots for me, and she seems sweet. We can probably make the long-distance thing work. It helps that we're finally going to Montreal. Hey Kyle, try asking Amanda out.”
“Okay, but then who do I find?” I said. “The only person that I know who likes me is Bonnie, and well, she's married and she doesn't like me that way.”
“Dude, are you blind?” Daniel said.
“What?!” I replied.
“Dude, try asking Alexa out this time, instead of just writing I Love You on her t-shirt.” Dan said laughing with Bladen.
“You guys really think she'd go out with me? Besides, the odds of me seeing her on the tour are slim. How would she be able to go to Sudbury that easily?” I said.
“You have a point Steveo. The odds of her parents letting her go are slim.” Kyle said.
“How do you know?” asked Stephen.
“I give her advice a lot. She needs it, the poor soul. She has a crazy busy stressed life, with overbearing and unsupportive parents.” he responded.
“Wow, Kyle, maybe you should go after her instead of me.” I said.
“Nah, she's more your type.” he said.
“Daniel, you should finally ask Yael out on a date.” Dan said.
“Really? Are you sure?” Daniel replied.
“Definitely.” I interjected.
Kyle interrupted everyone.
“Guys, what do I do with Ali? Before I move on to Amanda, I still need to break up with her.” he said.
“Dude, doesn't Ali go to all our local shows?” Stephen asked.
“Yeah, I think so.” Kyle said.
“Well then, just do to her what she did to you. Flirt with Amanda, ask her out, and make sure Ali sees you two. Then, when she freaks out, just confront her, and she'll be gone.” Bladen said.
Everyone just looked at her in silence.
“And how do you know this?” Dan asked her.
“Dan, remember all the boyfriends Miranda had in high school?” Bladen said, raising her eyebrows at him.
“Oh. Never mind.” Dan said, looking down.
“So let me get this straight: Kyle, you're going to ask Amanda out and flirt with her in front of Ali, Stephen, you're going to ask Melanie out, Daniel, you're going to finally ask Yael out, and Steveo, you're going to ask Alexa out.” said Bladen.
“If she shows up” I said.
“Yes, if she shows up.” Bladen said.
“Alright then, so now, will most of the fighting/moping cease?!” Dan said, looking us all straight in the eye.
“Hopefully”
“Probably”
“I guess”
“Yeah.”
“Good. Anything else you have to say, Bladen?” Daniel said.
“Only one thing. Kyle, watch out for some snark from Quinn.”
“Yeah, will do.” Kyle said.
The meeting finally ended, and everyone spilt off to go do their own thing. I just sat there, in silence, thinking about what I was going to do.
