Ashlie pushed me into Nick's room, which felt like a wrestling ring. "H-hey, Nick!" I panicked
"Hey, Tom! Sorry I left so broadly," he started. "It was kinda bad timing."
"Oh..how so?"
"Well, I've got family problems right now," he lowered his head, sadly. "My mom's in the hospital, and my dad's in Vietnam."
I struggled to keep a straight face, trying not to start referencing Vietnam memes. "Oh, that's terrible, Nick. And, your dad's in Vietnam? You must be very proud of him."
"Yeah, his position really makes for some really great meme references." He starts to smiles, I cheer him up. Let's see Ashlie do better. "B-bye, Nick. See ya later."
"O-okay, bye, Tom.."
"Heyy, Nick.." Ashlie said, flirtatiously.
The hell is she doing? She might as well shake her hips and pucker her lips.
"Hey, Ashlie! What's up? When you get here," He said, excitedly. "Where you been? How have you been? It's been so long!"
"Geez, Nick," She playfully pouted, in a baby voice. "What's with all these questions? Geez.."
"Geez," he retorted, in the baby voice, mimicking her. "Sorry! I was just asking! You don't have to be so rude!"
"Gee. You'd think we were friends," Ashlie impatiently taps her foot, like she was waiting for him to say something. "Well, nick, aren't you gonna ask how I've been?!"
"B-but-" he started. I turn away, I can't see how this goes down.
"I'm just kidding, Nick," she yelled like the worm she was. "'What kind of friend would I be if I didn't torture you, huh?'"
"A bad one?" I could tell he was questioning what he's gotten into.
"Exactly, Nick!" Ashlie exclaims, as if he passed a final.
"Ashlie," he started, his face changed, like he saw a ghost. "Ah, never mind. It doesn't matter. I'm gonna finish unpacking. See ya."
"Okay, Nick." Ashlie walked out of the room wearing a joyful smirk as she did.
