Snowdrift *DISCONTINUED*

One

" that's the last of it" Ilona says as she places her snowboard on top of the car and takes the ratchet straps, raps them around the board and the car to hold it in place as she drives to the ski resort in the Rocky Mountains.

She stands outside her car for a few more minutes looking at the sky, before getting into the car and starting it up, she then backs out of the driveway of the dormitory she was staying at when college classes were in session.

She makes it a good 85 miles before she had to pull into Carthage city to fill up her gas tank, she  goes to pay for the gas in the gas station and grabs a bag of beef jerky and a monster, pays for it and then leaves after she got into her car and left the gas station.

She put the monster in the cooler behind her fully knowing that she will need it in the long drive ahead of her. She has one hand on the steering wheel as she brings the bag of beef jerky to her mouth to open it. She tears the top off the bag and eats a piece and she then puts both her hand back on the steering wheel and she continues driving for another 113 miles before stopping for the night in Quartsite in CA.

She pulled into the motel 6 and got her room key and grabbed a pair of clothes, just for tomorrow and goes to her room unlocks her door and walks in and closes it before any bugs could get in. She placed her clothes on the bed next to the one she would be sleeping in. She hopped into the shower and washed her hair twice as she remembered the comment she got on her hygiene in a McDonald's when she stopped to use the bathroom.

She got out of the shower and dressed in her clothes to sleep in and went  to bed knowing that tomorrow was going to be a long drive too. As her head hit the pillow she fell asleep just like that.

She awoke the next morning at 6:40 in the morning as she showered once more, got dressed and head toward the front office to pay for the room and return the key, she then walked out the door and got in her car and drove to a Starbucks and got a iced caramel Coffee and then went next door and got a dozen of the krispy creme donuts she got in her car and place the donuts in the passenger seat.

She grabbed a donut and put it in her mouth and then closed the box and drove to the next stop which wouldn't be for a few more hours. She had some stops along the way, to fill up her gas tank, to use the bathroom, to get something to eat.

Yes she ate all the donuts before her first stop, can you blame her, krispy creme is addictive.

As Ilona came to her final destination, the ski resort, she pulled her car up the the Lodge and parked the car, she then got all her stuff and headed for the front desk for her room key.

" how may I help you" the front desk attendant asked her " yes hi, I'm Ilona Malik, I'm here for my room number and key" she said with a smile " yes of course let me see if your name is in the database" the attendant said and turned towards the computer to check her name. " how do you spell your name, sorry to ask it's just that I don't know how to spell it, is it Russian?" The attendant asked Ilona " yes it is Russian, you spell it like I-l-o-n-a M-a-l-i-k" she replied as her Russian accent came out. " oh, okay I found it, your room number is 105, and Here's your key" the attendant said as she handed her the key to her room.

She got in the elevator with all her things when a boy about her age came in " you might have to get the next one " she told him as he tried to fit in the elevator, she hissed as he ignored her " hey buddy, move it" she said and he ignored her again, she was fed up with it and tapped him on the shoulder " yo, moron move it" she raised her voice and her eyes held an icy glare. He tilted his head then as if it all weighed down on him, he found out that she had indeed said something to him.

" I'm sorry, I can not hear you, I am deaf" he said at the same time he said it in sign language. And her eyes widened now knowing why he didn't reply to her and she replied in sign language " sorry I didn't know" she knew sign language see as her sister is also deaf. " it's all good" he said and smiled. They both got out of the elevator as she grabbed her stuff and apologized one more time and left to her room:
