Chapter 1

I wake up to the sound One Directions 'One Thing' playing from my iHome. I quickly hit the off button and jump out of bed.
"Skylar are you awake!?" I hear my best friend, Chelsea, call from downstairs.
"Yeah!" I practically scream back while grabbing a towel and heading to the bathroom to take a shower before i went to work. I worked at Starbucks. Pretty awesome I know.
I stepped under the scalding water and sat there for a bit, just thinking.
As soon as I was 18, I had moved out of my home in Cheshire, England and moved to Gloucester with my best friend Chelsea for a new start. Cheshire just had way to many bad memories for me. I was adopted at age 14 because when I was 12, my family got into a terrible car crash that killed my little sister, Emma, and both of my parents. I was immediately sent out to live with my aunt and uncle on the other side of
I blink back the tears as I scrubbed shampoo into my dark brown hair, still thinking about my family.
Hating how weak I was feeling, I brush off the tears and finish scrubbing myself.

As I pulled a pair of light was skinny jeans and a dark blue v-neck on, Chelsea poked her head through my door.
"Hey tonight I was thinking we could go clubbing, we haven't gone in like, forever." Chelsea says with an excited look on her face.
"Yeah sure. You do realize I'm going to have to borrow your clothes right?" I ask her skeptically.
"Of course. Just be glad your fat ass even fits in my clothes." she teases me before leaving my room.
I head back into the bathroom to put on my usual makeup, which is mascara and some coverup. Nothing special. But then again, who ever said I was special.
Nobody, that's who.
Walking out of the bathroom, I grab my phone and go to the living room, starting a game of flappy bird.
Chelsea comes and plops next to me, flicking on the television.
