Isabelle Beaumont is a young, intelligent girl living in a small French town. With her father as an inventor, she lives a fairly comfortable life — with one glaring exception: she doesn't remember anything that happened before her sixteenth birthday.

Adam Lancaster is a forgotten prince. With a castle overrun by thorny bushes, he lives as if he is in exile, accompanied by only a few of his trusted servants.

When Isabelle and Adam meet for the 'first' time, Isabelle realizes that perhaps it isn't really their first meeting — five years ago, she turned the prince to a beast, after all.

I love fairytales with a twist, but I haven't seen a lot of Beauty and the Beast retellings . . . so here I am, hoping this will be good retelling.
