Viktor POV
Most people wouldn't consider being godparents a big deal, but with what was happening in our family right now, it could be necessary. "Do it. Do it Yuuri." I said.
"Uh? But... But Viktor! Don't you understand what kind of commitment this is? I honestly don't know if I'm ready. Adopting a teenager was scary enough, but if something happens... That would be a toddler, or maybe even a baby! Maybe we shouldn't..." Yuuri said. He began typing a response. I ripped his phone out of his hand. "Viktor you give that back!" He said and sprang to his knees on the bed. I held the phone up in the air as he grasped for it. "You can't do that to Minako. Or Chris." I told him. He stopped struggling, and hung off of my shoulders, his face buried in my chest. He began to sob. I started to get nervous, it made me uncomfortable when people cried, I just didn't know what to do. "Hey Yuuri don't cry." I wrapped my arms around him and sank down onto the bed next to him. "I'm sorry..." Yuuri wimpered.
"Sorry? For what? Please don't cry..." I said quietly to him. Yuuri took a couple deep breaths. He looked up at me. "I'm scared. I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't deserve you, or any of this. I'm sorry Viktor." He said, not looking away for a second.
"Oh Yuuri don't think like that. I love you with all my heart. If anything you deserve better than what we have. I love you. More than anything. Remember that day you were poisoned? I walked in and my heart ripped into a million pieces seeing you on the ground like that, holding your lifeless hand. It was like someone stabbed my heart. Then they poured buckets of salt in the wound." Tears built up in my eyes. " They second you woke up was one of the best moments in my life. Besides they day I met you. And our wedding of course." I added. Yuuri wiped a tear from below my eye. He smiled. I blushed. "I love you too." He said, blushing. I laughed. Yuuri laughed. "Tell Minako we'll do it. " Yuuri said. "It's not like anything is going to happen to her"
"I knew you'd come around." I typed in a quick response and put Yuuri phone on his bedside table. I looked into his beautiful brown eyes. "What?" He asked and blushed. I grinned, and pulled him into a kiss.
Approximately 1 month later.
It was midnight. Neither Yuuri nor I could sleep. We didn't know why. We were both lying on our backs. Yuuri slipped his hand into mine. "Something big is going to happen. I know it. I just know it." He told me for the hundredth time that night. I sighed. We lay there for a few more minutes. Yuuri's phone rang. He picked it up. "It's Chris." He said and answered it. He listened for a moment. "Yeah Viktor's here." He said. "Speaker? It's the middle of the night! .... Fine." Yuuri took the phone off his ear and pressed the speaker phone button. "Yuuri? Viktor? Can you hear me?" Chris asked urgently.
"Yes, what's wrong?" I asked.
"IM ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH TO A FREAKING CHILD AND MY HUSBAND IS ON THE PHONE WITH A COUPLE OF FRIENDS THAT'S WHATS WRONG!" Minako's voice rang out in the background.
"I understand, I'm sorry babe." Chris said.
"We'll meet you at the hospital. Get her there before she kills you." Yuuri said.
"Alright." Chris said.
"YEAH LISTEN TO HIM!! GET ME TO A GODDAMN HOSPITAL BEFORE I SQUEEZE THE LIFE OUT OF YOU, YOU LITTLE-" the line cut out before Minako could yell anymore. Yuuri ran out the bedroom door. I grabbed my beige trench coat and slipped it on. I was about to leave when I realized that Yuuri would freeze to death without a coat. I grabbed my black trench coat and hurried after Yuuri. He took the coat, gratefully. "Thanks." He said and climbed in the car. I got in the passenger side and barely had my seatbelt on before he sped down the road towards the hospital. We got there just in time to see Chris helping Minako into the emergency entrance. We rushed over. Chris looked like he was ready to pass out. "It's okay, just a few more steps." He mumbled, sounding almost as if the reassurance was for himself. Yuuri took Minako's other hand. "Hey, it's alright. We'll get in there soon." He said. He was so calm, even though he was under so much pressure. "I just want to get the freakin child out of me." Minako said. A few hours later, a sweet baby girl was born. "What are you going to name her?" I asked. Minako and Chris looked at each other. "Emiko." The said at the same time. "It mean beautiful child, or something." Minako said. "Whatever it means, our daughter will make an amazing Emiko." Minako continued. Emiko laughed. Chris laughed. Minako laughed too, and soon we were all laughing and smiling. The whole moment was like a dream.
A dream that would never last.
