"Are you alright, Kirst?" Avi could see that I was getting tired by the way I was walking. "Here, hop onto my back." He stopped walking so I could get on.
"Thank you so much." I lugged myself over to where he was and threw my body onto his back. I must've did it a little to hard because he grunted when I landed on him. "Sorry." He just nodded and continued walking. I suddenly get this strange feeling that we are being watched. I look around, but I don't see anyone. I shrugged my shoulders and laid back down.
~~~~ TIME SKIP FORWARD A COUPLE OF DAYS BECAUSE I'M TO LAZY TO TYPE WHATEVER THAT'S IN THE MIDDLE ~~~~
"We're here now." Scott pointed towards the huge castle.
I straightened myself but I didn't get off Avi's back, it's too comfortable to get off. We only went a few steps further before we felt a huge rumble in the ground. Three cages erupted from the ground a trapped Scott, Mitch and Toto. I got off the soft layer of fur and ran over to them.
"Guys! Are you okay? Don't worry, I'll get you out of there, just hold on!" I looked everywhere, desperately looking for a button or a lever to free them, but Scott stopped me.
"Kirstie, don't worry about us. Just do you what you need to do, and no matter what happens, don't trust-"
The cages dropped below the ground before he had to chance to finish. Don't trust? Don't trust who?! Avi? No, it can't be him. While I was in the middle of thinking of who I shouldn't trust, Avi sneaked up behind and brought me to the ground.
"You can trust me. Just do exactly as I say, and everything will work out fine." He said with a lower voice in my ear.
I nodded quickly as he told me to stand up and led me towards the castle.
~~~~ SKIP TO INSIDE ~~~~
"I've got her! I've found the girl with the red shoes for you Ma'am." Avi announced in the middle of an empty room.
Suddenly green smoke seeps in and slowly builds up. Within a few seconds, it's formed a relatively small figure. the smoke fades away, revealing yet another woman who looks like me, only this time she has green skin and is probably the witch of whom I was told to destroy. She circled around me, inspecting me.
"Take her to the dungeons." She commanded to Avi.
"Yes Ma'am!"
He nodded and walked off, using his strong tail to pull me. We continued going through long, dark hallways, down flights of stairs and even across a bridge. Every now and again we would pass a small group of guards. We came to a stop at the top of a staircase that spiralled downwards. Avi yanked me closer and told me bend down. He leaned in and spoke in my ear.
"Okay, this is the ultimate trust exercise. Do you trust me?" He said roughly.
"Uhhh...." I thought back to what Scott said. Can I trust him? "Yes." I said before without giving a second thought.
His shoulders, once tense, drooped and he relaxed. "Alright." His voice softens. "If you want to escape and save the others, we're going to have to work together. You'll have to do everything exactly as I say, understand?" I nod quickly. "Great, let's go."
He motioned for me to go ahead. I obliged and carried on down the stairs, knowing I could trust Avi. I still had a tiny bit of doubt inside, but he seemed trustworthy. We arrived at the base of the stairs, standing in front of the dungeons. He turned to face me once again and gave me a set of instructions.
"Here we are. When you go inside, look behind the small stool and pull out the brick that is jutting out. You will find a small dagger and a key. This key is able to unlock all the dungeons. Don't use it when guards come down, put it back where you found it and put the brick back in place. They will look around the cell for the first few days, just to see if you have any weapons. After that, they won't come down anymore apart from the mornings when they're on patrol. When they're gone, unlock your door and find the others cell. Once you have, call me with this." Avi handed me with a small ice whistle. "A noise that no human can hear will be sounded. Only lions with the special gift is able to hear it. Luckily, I'm one of them. I can do other things, but you'll eventually find out they are.
"There's a big chance that they will be tied up, so use your dagger. I will come down and open up a secret passage that was built aeons ago. Suprisingly, it still stands. Keep your friends there until the time has come. I'll keep the guards distracted while you take care of the witch. During that, some reinforcements will come and help me defeat the army. You, on the other hand, are the only who can defeat and destroy her. No one else can help." He finished.
I tried to take this all in at once. "How long do we have to accomplish this?"
"About two days."
"Okay."
So basically, I will have to rescue my friends, destroy the Wicked Witch, and save the land, within the time limit of only 48 hours? These next couple of days are going to interesting.
