P.O.V = Point of View.

Destiny's P.O.V

My eyes opened to darkness besides the small red blinking light in the corner of the box I was trapped in. I attempted to stand up although was blown back to the floor as the box sped into a fast pace upwards. My eyes darted to the roof as I saw a small light appearing - washing away a few of my fears. I will get out.

The box stopped at a halt causing my body to jump up and fall back against the wall. I slid down as I felt my heart skip a beat. Maybe I won't get out, I thought to myself as the box didn't open.

Above me I could hear the voices of boys. Suddenly the box was opened and I sighed of relief. A boy with shaggy blond hair and brown eyes was smiling down at me. Suddenly his eyes turned to shock. "It's a girl." He said to the other guys with a thick British accent. Mutters were filled around as people began questioning. "How? We've never had a girl before." A man's voice questioned with an American accent, making his way over to the box. His face showed confusion as he, the dark skinned boy looked down at me.

The blond haired boy held his hand out for me, "My name's Newt, second in command, it's okay if you can't remember your name, normally Gladers don't until a bit later." I took the boy's hand who I now know as Newt. As I was lifted out of the box I saw a set of 50 odd boys staring at me. Not a girl in sight. "So you've never had a girl here before?" I questioned, confusion spreading across my face, "Adding onto that, where in gods name am I?" my voice turned to to panic as my eyes looked around the place. A large field filled with huts and gigantic cement walls trapping it in, the only way of freedom that I saw was a gap within the walls - leading into some sort of maze.

"Nope we've never had a girl here, also, you're in the Glade. We have no memory of our previous lives so we have no idea how we ended up here - by the way - I'm Alby, first in command." Alby explained. Suddenly two boys ran out of the maze. One of them was muscular and Asian and the other had brown hair and brown eyes. The pair looked at me confused. "Those are runners - they go into the maze everyday to try and find a way out of this bloody place." Newt sighed.

"What are all you shuckfaces looking at - get back to work!" Alby exclaimed. "Newt, would you be able to give the greenie a tour?" He asked. "Sure." Newt smiled loosely grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the medical area. "This is where the med-jacks work." Newt smiled.

After the full tour was finished he took me over to the the sleeping arrangements. "If you don't feel like staying with all the guys I could put a sleeping bag in my room or something?" He questioned. A smile spread across my face. "Staying with one guy would most likely be better than staying with about fifty of them." I laughed and he smiled.

Chapter Two

Newt's P.O.V

Her laugh. Her smile. I can't get over it. I love her sparkling blue eyes. Her brown hair that flows in the wind and her beautiful tanned skin that glows in the sun.

I realised that I had been staring for too long and blushed - my eyes darting towards my feet as I mentally slapped myself for making it obvious that I was staring. 'God dammit Newt - why do you have to be so stupid?' I thought to myself.
