"...and i have a little surprise for you, baby," mama says as she kneels to hug drew goodbye. instead of a hug she pulls a bright blue and purple box out of her purse, "your first present of your 7th birthday! open it during lunch okay!" drew's eyes light up at the sight of the perfectly wrapped square, "thank you mama!" drew jumps into his mama's arms, gets a big squishy kiss on the cheek, and carefully takes his mysterious present into school.

"what do you think is inside, abby?" drew eyes the box sitting on the picnic table in front of them. abby giggles, "open it drew!" drew smiles giddily, "okay!"
he unfolds each side of the colorful paper so he can easily slide the box out of the paper, revealing a white box with small planets drawn on it. drew opens the box to find a cupcake covered in blue and purple sprinkles.
"yumm!" abby and drew cheer at the sight of the delicious dessert. "want some abby?" drew offers as he pulls the cupcake out without getting any frosting smeared on the box. "just a bite. but then you get my present!" drew nods happily as he lets her take a bite.
abby runs to her backpack and pulls out a green, flat rectangle and sets it onto the table, "i tried to draw drewville with markers, but it got rubbed off. but here you go! happy birthday, drew!" drew wipes the frosting from his mouth and opens the present just as carefully as the last one. he unfolds the last side and sees a beautiful picture of a galaxy and a big SPACE above it. "woahh abby! this is so cool!" drew exclaims as he flips through the bright pages. abby smiles and hugs him.
