Long Time No See

The two walked through the door of the Salvatore boarding house. On the first look, Renesmee thought there was no one around. But just as that thought crossed her mind, chanting filled the air and Kai was pinned to the wall. 

Obviously knowing that this is a business of Olivia Parker, Renesmee searched for the girl in the dark corners of the room.

"You bitch! Show yourself!" She shouted while her eyes roamed through the Salvatore living room.

"You okay?" She said looking at Kai who has just stood up from the bookshelf Olivia motus him into. He nodded in response making her sigh in relief.

Kai spotted furry blonde curls flying around the head of a teenager who was approaching, and instantly knew that was the girl he tried to kill back in the day when she was just a toddler. Renesmee glared at the girl. Spotting her expression, Kai gently touched Renesmee's shoulder.

Please do not slaughter her just yet, he thought like she could hear him, we need her.

He had every right to be afraid of Olivia's early's death considering he witnessed Renesmee draining the life out of that redhead a few days ago.

"Sissy. Why don't you take us to Josette?" He said taking a step forward. Olivia, once she spotted him approaching, raised her hand to chant if necessary.

"And why would I do that?" She shot back making Renesmee roll her eyes. The young vampire was now sitting on the edge of the couch.

"I want to do the merge, which means a certain set of blonde curls does not have to. Believe me, little sister, it's a..."

"Win- win." Renesmee finished his sentence.

"Exactly." He grinned turning to face Renesmee. Olivia did not say anything, she just sat in her car and drove the couple to the hospital Jo worked in.

As the trio walked down the Whitmore hospital halls, Renesmee could not help but think about what will happen next. Jo, Kai's twin sister and Alaric's girlfriend, had the Mystic Falls Gang on her side, and Kai only had Renesmee watching his back. There was also Olivia, but she seemed to have mixed emotions about the two. Olivia suddenly stopped making the young brunette wake up from her thoughts. The blonde leaned on the reception table asking the nurse for Jo.

"She is on her lunch break. I'll call her for you."

Kai stood patiently waiting for his twin to show up. Renesmee watched him closely, noticing that he was nervous. She had an urge to ask him whether he is okay, but the two showed nothing but rough and cold to Olivia, so Renesmee showing worry for Kai was wrong.

One of the doors opened revealing a woman in her late thirties, whom Renesmee saw a few times before when she was visiting Alaric with Damon.

That's her, she thought, that's Josette.

Jo's look gazed from the floor to Kai and once the realization hit her, her eyes widened. There stood her twin brother, who was supposed to be trapped in the prison world. The folder that she was holding fell from her hands, and met the floor with a thud.

Seeing her surprise, all of the nervousness was gone from Kai, and his usual grinning self was back. He had a sick ear to ear smile on his face and was waving his hand at her.

She grabbed his jacket dragging him in a place more private. Olivia and Renesmee followed closely behind.

They entered a laboratory and Kai sat on one of the chairs looking all cool. Jo, on the other hand, was massaging her temples with her fingers. She was freaking out, and Kai could see that. It was feeding his ego...

"How are you here?" She asked after she made sure that it all was not just a nightmare.

"First, a Bennett witch, whose blood I needed to do the spell, appeared in the Prison world, then I siphoned her magic, stabbed her, took the Ascendant and a knife with your magic, did the spell, all so I can see you, Josette, and kill you in the merge. You can call it, the power of sibling's love." He said obviously being sarcastic.

"I am not doing the merge, Kai. I don't have my magic, and I don't want it. If I managed to built a life without it, so can you." She replied. Kai scoffed.

"There's one thing that made a normal life in our coven possible. Magic. I did not have it, and I was tortured. And you, who have it, are throwing it away? Call me crazy but I think your logic is just wrong, sister." Kai shot back and Renesmee agreed. She knew his story, and if was any justice on this planet, Jo would be dead alongside the whole coven.

Jo just shook her head no in response. Kai sigh, his gaze landing on Olivia.

"Why about Liv and Luke? It's just not rightful by them, don't you agree sister? We are the original set of twins, we should be doing the merge, not them." Kai said and the young vampire noticed that every person in that room knew that Kai did not give a damn about Liv and Luke, they were just his weapon to make Jo do the spell. But Jo did not budge and that made Renesmee do something that will make Kai like her even more.

She took the knife from his back pocket stabbing Jo in the stomach making her fall unconscious.

Oh, Jo... Haven't anyone told you it is not good to mess with Kai and Ren??? Is that nickname weird? Should I use it in the book?
