"Skye?" A voice asked gently approaching me from behind, "What are you doing out here, you're going to freeze."

I turned to face the incoming person finding it to be my older brother Shawn, "No I'll be fine. I have a jacket." I pulled my wool jacket closer around me, as tiny snow droplets formed a thin coating over the jacket.

"What's that?" Shawn pointed a tiny pouch I was holding in my hands that, like everything else, was coated in snow.

"I was trying to catch the snow!" I said with a gleeful innocence.

That got a laugh out of Shawn as he felt the need to remind me that, "You can't 'catch' snow, you'll only end up with a puddle of water inside your bag." In order to prove his point, Shawn grabbed the bag from me, and looked inside to reveal a small amount of water.

"You know, you have no imagination..."

Of course Shawn only laughed again and pulled me into a hug, "I just don't want Mom to get mad at you when you bring a sack full of freezing water into her house."

We both laughed that time.

"We should go back in... mom is making hot coco." Shane always was the wiser of the two of us.

But I insisted on staying out a little longer, "Why don't you go; come get me when dinner is ready. I want to stay out and watch the stars for a while, they are beautiful tonight."

"Alright."

I spent the rest of that hour lying in the grass, my back pressed against the cold hard grass but looking up at the warm and inviting stars. As the snow feel, I couldn't help but wonder what, if anything, was up there. What was waiting for us when we ventured from our measly existence on this planet?
