Young Justice: Broken

Chapter 5

Conner's Pov

Once Me'gann left I followed Tornado into the command room. Once I got there I noticed Batman, Robin, and Kaldur discussing the previous mission. Upon entering, Batman walked up to me.

"We need to talk." He said gruffly.
Well duh.
"Ok about what?"

"Last month Guardian reported on Kadmus' clean up."

I gulped remembering the days of my enslavment and Match, the super clone.
"So what? Did Match get out!?!" I asked thinking of the battle I almost lost.

"No it's something... something else..."

"Well, what is it!" I slightly yell, tired of him dragging this out. I look around, everyone is silent. Robin steps up.

"There were others... failed attempts at cloning. Bodies stacked on bodies, dude the pictures Guardian sent, they looked like you with slight mutations."

"What... Why are you telling me this!!"

"Because only half of them were fully kryptonian, the others were half human."

"So what? I still don't understand."

Just then Batman pulls up a screen with a woman with dark black hair and brown eyes.

"This is Emily Hall, she went missing two years ago. She was a student at a nearby university looking for an internship at a genetics lab. Her last known interaction was with Dr. Desmond at an interview."

"Ms.Hall's DNA was identified in some of the half human clones." Kaldur stepped in.

"So your saying... it's possible I'm not Luthor's son?" I ask, slightly hopeful.

"It is definitely a possibility. We can test you to see." Batman said.

I look down, thinking of everything I have lived through. It may not show but I still feel as if Luthor stills has something over me, has control. It would be amazing to take that from him. To not be his son...

"I'll do it, I have to know for sure..."

Garfield's Pov

After Me'gann calls the team she flies down to all the chaos. It's all really overwhelming. I pull my green lion to my chest and watch my blood sister kick butt!

She was doing awesome but something felt off. Troops were taking cover after Me'gann sent the grenades into the ocean, it seemed normal enough.

That's when I noticed one troop sneak behind her and activate a firebomb.

"Me'gann look out!!" I yell through the mind link. I didn't warn her fast enough though because she collapses almost instantly.

I scoot to the back of the Ferris wheel car holding my lion tight to my chest, tears running down my face.

" Not again, no...no...YOU CAN'T TAKE ANYONE ELSE FROM ME!!!!" My quiet murmurs turn to screams.

I look at my lion and roughly putting it down, and with a rush of adrenaline I jump out of the Ferris wheel car.

As I'm falling I see a trooper running towards Me'gann as she falls unconscious. I'm falling but I will save her.

I don't know how or why, but I don't care. Suddenly I'm gliding to Me'gann, wings outstretched. I land a little rough but I'm not dead.

I go over to her and I roar, which made the trooper stop dead in his tracks. I growl and pounce at him, teeth bared. He quickly runs to regroup.

The soldiers raise their guns to fire at me, but I rise, towering above them all. I take one giant step forward and let out a very different very much louder roar.

They all seemed to unprepared and scared to stay. One by one they run back to the water.

Looking down at Me'gann I slowly realized what just happened and do a victory dance. Then I look over to see the entire Young Justice staring at me completely shocked.

Robin's Pov

Soon after telling Conner about the whole who's the parent situation we get an urgent alert from Megan about and attack at the boardwalk.

The team rushes over to find very panicked civilians. There were a few straggler troops that had manage to escape the main fight but they were no problem.

Once we get to where Me'gann was thought to be we see an unusual sight. A green bird is flying towards her, and upon landing shape shifts into a green lion.

I look at the rest of the team to see if they saw what I just did. Yep they are all surprised. The lion begins to defend her thankfully, and it didn't eat her.

When the troops regroup we all prepare to step in and help but the lion changes again into a T-Rex. It roars louder than any animal I've ever heard ( including blockbuster ) sending all the troops running.

Everyone stares at the T-Rex as it transform into a little green kid...Garfield?!? What!! When did this happen? He begins dancing in victory before he notices all of us staring in shock.

Me and KF run over to him, both of us with huge grins on our faces.
"Dude! That was awesome!!" I say clapping him on the back.

Garfield beams up at me and Wally.

"Yah! That was real cool, but uh... dude... you got something on your faces." Wally says.

Garfield scrambles to feel his faces and finally notices his new green skin.

"Woah!!! I look like.."

"ME'GANN!" We all shout, quickly rushing over to her.

She seems to be ok and is waking up, but everyone was still concerned. Garfield quickly is by her side and Wally begins standard first aid. I glance over to Kaldur and Tula who are talking with the rest of the team. I make sure Wally can get Me'gann situated before heading over to the team.

"Robin, we all decided to head back to the cave report to Batman then try to figure out what's going on." Kaldur says.

"What do you mean what's going on?" I ask

"Well I haven't fought with your team for very long, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's no coincidence that Garfield was attacked twice in one week." Tula states. " Kaldur'an and I are going to follow Black Manta's troops and see what we can find, we will report back within four hours."

Everyone agrees to this and head out deprecate ways. She was right, something isn't right...

Well there! I finally finished! Tbh I'm not proud of this chapter, I just really want to get the plot going. And sorry it took awhile to update. I have been super stressed out these past few months and had some family issuse, but don't worry! Everyone and everything is ok now, so I should be able to update more.

The next chapter can be one of two or three things-
•Conner's DNA drama
•The report of the fight and YJ trying to figure out what's going on
• Or Kaldur and Tula's mission

Conners'DNA drama will happen eventually but can happen now if you want, Kaldur and Tula's mission will also eventually happen in the next few chapters or the next if you want, the report will kinda happen but not really, so tell me in the comments which you'd like to read first.
