March 25th the day it started...
It felt like a normal day, I had just moved into a new house. I inherited the house the day my grandfather died. His death wasn't a sad occasion. I had never been very close to him, but when I did see him, everything seemed slightly off. He was always rambling about "The Tall men" he said used to say they were going to get in. The doctors said he was insane, straight up mad, but I had a feeling there was more to the story. I had moved in a month after his death actually, he had died in the house, but the reason behind the death is still unknown. It kinda gave me the creeps, knowing that the thing that killed my grandfather could have still been in those very walls.
That night I had trouble sleeping, I kept hearing noises coming basement, but the door was locked. I had gotten up to get a glass of water. I trudged to the kitchen, grabbing a cup and filling it with tap water. I was about to take a sip when I looked down to see that in fact, it was not water but a sticky red substance I dropped the cup and watched it shatter. the glass stung my foot as a drop of scarlet blood dripped down onto the floor. I blinked my eyes, and I still had the cup filled with clear water. I mumbled something to myself about not getting enough sleep and wandered off to bed, but not before checking if the basement door was locked. .
The next night I woke up frantically sweating, I had had a vision, I could tell it was a vision not just a dream. I had seen a door, it was small, and locked. The door opened and a chest appeared, a key flashed. A blood-curdling scream erupted from behinds me tearing me away from the vision waking me up. That was the night that changed everything.
The next day was just unpacking and cleaning. I had invited some friends over. We had a few drinks and chatted until the wee hours of the morning. They went home at about 3 am, leaving me alone, once again. I cleaned up the leftover alcohol and shuffled to bed. I fell asleep fairly quickly. Once again I awoke covered in sweat, the same vision as the night before.
Things began to get quite strange. I was having same vision every night. Whenever I passed the basement door it was like it was calling me, I kept hearing my grandfather's voice whispering to me to get out, or get away a soon as possible. I was anxious walking around the house. I felt as though someone was always watching me. Everything was confusing I was hearing voices. I would tell myself I was just tired, I wasn't. At the time I could not find anything that made me happy. I would invite my friends over on a regular basis. They were really nice, but just because they knew something was up, they pitied me. One day they brought a girl named Susan over, she was really pretty and interesting. She had long blonde hair, green eyes, and pale skin. Susan looked familiar, I must've seen her before. Susan and I became extremely close, we were like peas in a pot, peanut butter, and jelly, we were inseparable. Susan was perfect. After awhile we started dating, she always knew what to say, or do we were perfect... if only it was real. She would come over every day at 2:00 on the dot.
Weeks passed by, But I felt nothing except fear. They day was coming soon, like one of my visions had said. Time was speeding through, not stopping for anything. The day was lurching closer and closer, With no time to think. My time was up. It was happening. I woke up on The day, I knew it was time i could feel it in my bones. I made my way to the basement door. I turned the knob, expecting it to be locked, but the door creaked open. I entered. It was a normal basement, except for the small door in the corner only big enough for one person to fit through. It was the same door from the visions. I walked through, and a key appeared in front of me, and a chest sat in the middle of a tiny room. I gingerly wrapped my fingers around the key, lifting it up. I walked towards the chest, my heart beat increasing with every step. I carefully put the key into the lock and turned it. The chest creaked open revealing a mountain of envelopes, all in my grandfather's handwriting. I picked one up, opening it.
December 14th
Today I woke up with one of the tall men jabbing a needle into my forearm. The next thing i knew i was in a new room. It was white, with padded walls. There was a small window that they could watch me through. My arms were trapped in a jacket, at least i couldn't see the scars. A women came to inject me today. Her name appeared to be susan. She had long blonde hair, green eyes, and fair skin. I can't write for much longer or The tall men will be mad.
I picked up another, and another, all of the notes are so similar. Something felt fimilar, like I had read these before. An image of the room flashed before my eyes, before Everything faded to black.
I was no longer able to tell the difference between reality and my imagination. Everything was blurring together, and I had no control over it. I was terrified. I woke up one day screaming. I could feel them closing in. They were telling me that I was wrong, That I was seeing things, That I was sick. I couldn't breathe. I called out for Susan but she didn't come. I pushed them off and ran. I tried to find Susan but she was nowhere. I ran to her house but there was nothing there just ashes. I started hyperventilating. I screamed. I ran back home. I slammed the door and looked around. My mind kept telling me she wasn't real... I suddenly felt a jerk. There was a bright light, and I carefully opened my eyes. I was in a white room, my arms trapped in a jacket it was all a dream... I was truly Alone.
