CHAPTER 2
Kristi, Luke, Heather, and Aiden are the next ones downstairs. "Mornin'!" Kristi says. She is only seven and wears her hair in a big, blonde bun on top of her head.
"Good morning!" I say. "Breakfast is in five minutes."
"Ok."
The four kids flop on the couch and turned on the Wii.
Breakfast was served and Ky, Misty, Mayla, and Max were still missing.
"Where are the three dorks?" Kristi asks with a mouth full of pancakes.
"I'll go get them." I announce. I run up the stairs four at a time and go knock on the bathroom door. Ky is singing her favorite songs very loudly. "Ky! Quit waisting hot water! Your breakfast is getting cold!"
"Ok" she sings. Next I walk into the bedroom. Misty is on the top bunk with a long skinny arm hanging over the edge of the bed. She is only nine. Mayla is on the bottom bunk drooling all over her grey sheets. Max sleeps in the bunk in the corner on the top. Rusty, our basest hound, sleeps on the bottom. "Wake up! Breakfast is ready and getting cold." I say. I leave it at that and exit room.
