"BRRINGGGG"
the ear piercing screech of mark's alarm clock woke him from his peaceful slumber and he groaned as he stretched his arm out towards his blaring alarm clock, slamming the snooze button and not questioning why his alarm was going off at 7:45 on a saturday morning.
"five more minutes mum." mark mumbled as he buried his face into his soft pillow.
"as much as i care for you, i am not your mum." a sarcastic voice called out.
mark only knew one person who could actually manage to sound sarcastic all the time.
jeno.
"good morning sleeping beauty, or should i say sleeping ugly. did you know that you drool in your sleep?" jeno said, scoffing at mark's disheveled state.
"why are you in my house jeno?" mark questioned, while slowly sitting up in bed and sleepily rubbing his eyes.
"and why are you drinking my milk?"
"well," jeno said before taking a another sip out of the small yellow milk carton. "your mum let me in and she said i could help myself to any drink so i did."
"you didn't answer my question."
"i answered one of them. now hurry up and get dressed because we have a busy day ahead of us."
"what do you mean we?"
jeno laughed before getting up from mark's desk.
"didn't your mum tell you? you're in the school play."
------------------------
and that was how i ended up sitting in my school hall, half asleep at half past 8 on a saturday morning.apparently, jeno's mum was talking to my mum about the play and because this would've been my first year not being in the school play, jeno's mum was all too happy to talk to jeno about offering me a role in the play. and "conveniently", someone had just dropped out of a main role so there was an opening for the role of a knight and according to jeno, i would be perfect for it.
jeno would never put my name and perfect in the same sentence together, so knowing him, he's probably plotting something.
in all honesty, i'm dreading it. i now have to stay after school three days a week AND come in every saturday at 8:30am until we perform the play. i mean it's not like i have a life or anything! well, jeno laughed when i told him that but i have a funny feeling that he's plotting something.
first of all, i play the knight and this knight just so happens to be the best friend of the prince. and who is playing the prince? donghyuck.
secondly, we spend the majority of the play together so i'm stuck with donghyuck for the majority of rehearsals. not that i'm complaining.
thirdly, we have to sing a duet about friendship and the importance of sticking together and we have to learn the song in our own time so that = more time with donghyuck. yay! than was sarcasm if you didn't notice.meanwhile, i'm still trying to get over him so being at his side for several hours a week isn't really going to help with that.
and he seems like he genuinely likes jieun so i don't want to ruin his happiness just because i possibly like him.
plus, i don't think jieun really likes me, i mean i caught her glaring at me after i gave donghyuck a piggyback ride during our lunch break. as far as i'm concerned, i haven't done anything to upset her so i think i'll be steering clear of her for a bit.
but life just seems a bit hectic and confusing at the moment.
i like donghyuck but i don't want to risk our friendship and jieun's wrath by exposing my feelings.
then there's the problem of jeno's scheming.
oh and it's not really a problem but because chenle is his class president, he's in charge of reading out announcements for next week over the tannoy and i know that along with jaemin, he's come up with some plot to play dolphin noises over the tannoy instead and they're probably going to get suspended for a week.so yeah, my life is a mess but hopefully, it'll get better?
