Jasmine's Point of View
"So my cousin's picking me up in her God awful red Volkswagen Bug today. I swear she better come fast and be ready to split as soon as she gets here I don't want anyone to see me in that thing!" I told my best friend Cherry. She and I were best friends since freshman year and now as seniors we ruled the school. St.Vincent's was a small private school for the elite in upper Manhattan and only the best of the best and the richest of the rich could get in, I was miserable. No one knew I only got in on scholarship and I sure as shit wasn't going to tell anyone. Not even Cherry, I love the girl but she could run her mouth like no one else. I'm afraid she might slip my secrets. My hair was a golden blonde that just so happened to come from a bottle, my boobs were the work of the best cosmetic surgeon we could afford and my uniform was a size or two too small. I was the girl every guy wanted but I had my heart set on Ryland. He was the epitome of perfection but he wouldn't even look my way. I reapplied my mascara in my locker mirror just as Ryland was coming my way. I flashed him a smile and Cherry came up behind me.
"Come on Jazzy you look beautiful. All the other girls are hideous compared to you!" Cherry said in her ever present bubbly voice to match her attitude. She was so sweet, standing at four eleven with a smile that could light up a room. She was an amazing friend no matter what anyone said. Then the gears in my head started turning compared to me, I thought up a brilliant plan that would surely end with me and Ryland together. "Hey! Ryland wait!" I called after him. He turned around, "Yes Jasmine?" he asked raising an eyebrow. I got closer, close enough for my cleavage to be in full view. I batted my eyelashes, "I was just wondering if you would wait with me for my cousin, she's always late and I always get so scared when I'm alone." I said dragging out the "so". I saw him look down my top just a little then he looked up. He forced his face into an uninterested mask and agreed to wait with me. Yes! When he sees my cousin he'll realize there are way worse looking people and then he'll ask me out. A fool proof plan.
Blaise's Point of View
I have to pick up my stupid cousin today so I can take her to some fancy dinner with her mother's sister and her family. I don't see why I have to do it. I wasn't even invited but my mother insisted to better my image when it comes to my family. I wanted nothing to do with Jasmine and I think she was starting to realize I would love to stay home rather than drive her ass to the Bronx. I go to Franklin High for the Giffted and Talented where we didn't have to wear preppy uniforms or meet any sort of status quo. I loved it there and I'm currently preparing for the end of year showcase. I don't usually get this excited but I really really am But my parents finally okayed and purchased a new form of transportation for me and I already had my license for my new ride. Oh, she was in for the ride of her life.
Jasmine's Point of View
The final bell rang and I bolted, looking for Ryland. I saw him standing right out front looking around. Probably looking for me. I reached him and said hello and we waited for five minutes, then ten, then as it struck 3:15 we heard a motor and someone driving up to the front of the school. But it wasn't the Volkswagen. It was a black Harley Davidson the motorcycle my dad had been raving about being the best motorcycle on the market. And I bet Ryland knew that too since he was beginning to drool. It was solid black but the motorcycle wasn't even the worst part. It was who was riding the bike. My cousin, clad in a dark red dress that ended just above the knee covered with a black leather jacket with fishnet tights and black knee high heeled boots.
"Hop on Blondie." Blaise said the smirk on her face unwavering.
"You did this on purpose! You knew that I had somewhere to be and you show up fifteen minutes late! Then when you finally get here it's on some God forsaken death trap!" I screech
"Whatever do you mean dear cousin? You know I'm not one for punctuality and I was never told I had to get you to this formal dinner in a car. All I have to do is get you there, and this baby, can sure as shit get you there." she said, her British accent ringing in my ear. That bitch.
"You know what fine. Whatever. I forgot something inside just hold on." and I walked away.
Blaise's Point of View
It's fun to see her get all angry, at times she starts screaming like a monkey and her hair frizzes.
The guy standing next to her looks like he was wanted to leave but for some reason he was still standing there. He then gulped and walked my way. I decided to be nice since I don't want someone else to start bitching. "Hi. I'm Blaise what's your name?" I asked "I'm Ryland. It's nice to meet you. Wow. You look nothing like Jasmine." He said eyeing my dark hair and blue eyes. "Yeah. My looks are all natural. Hers cost her a couple thousand dollars. So are you guys dating or are you waiting for your ride too." I said completely unbothered by the fact I just spilled my cousin's secret. He seemed to be getting his courage back add I noticed his shoulders relaxed and he looked up. His hair was a dirty blonde mostly covered by a navy beanie but his bangs were sort of showing and he had warm brown eyes. "Really? I never would have guessed." He said frowning.
"I really have to go if I want to get this girl to her dinner in time. My mother's going to bitch and whine forever if this doesn't go well." I said, irritated "Well it's not your fault she's still inside."He responded "Yeah try telling my mother that." then I called Jasmine on the phone "you're never going to get there in time but if you're not out here in one minute I'm leaving." then I hung up.
One minute past and she came running so I started my bike. "3,2" I said as her eyes widened and she came running as fast as she could in her pink wedges. I said a quick goodbye to Ryland and smirked, amused at my cousin's struggle with such a simple task as running.
She got on with some difficulty and we were off.
The ride to the dinner was smooth and Jasmine changed in a bathroom somewhere but just as I was about to dip out my aunt called me over. "Oh Blaise I have some news for everyone. I think you should stay even if just for a little bit." I turned on my heel and leaned against a pillar. "Fine, let's just get this over with."
An hour later I was just about to flip over the damn table because of all the trash coming out everyone's mouths. I ended up staying to eat, but these bloody, privileged, sons of bitches didn't realize how bad I wanted to hurt them.
I was born in 1997 in London and had lived there until spring of 2012 when my dad got a promotion as a manager of a big international company and we had to move to America. It's not a bad country and New York is beautiful but my fucking family needs to learn how to shut the fuck up because at least one of the is going to have their ass handed to them in a minute. Mum and Dad haven't told anyone about the promotion or anything else because they don't want to be taken advantage of or used in any way but right now I have the overwhelming desire to tell everyone to get them to shut up. Let me start at the beginning....
"We know someone of your, *hmph* status, wouldn't really understand Blaise. It's really not that complicated. Your Uncle Harry just bought another business so now he has three stores open so he makes more money now." Oh. Hell. No First off I was only asking how his business was going since they were talking about construction and other things and second I just really wanted to leave but i was going to drive myself mad sitting in that chair brooding. But Aunt Samantha kept on "We decided, since you're new to the country and all you should go to school with Jasmine and you would already know someone your first day there it would be amazing. And before you say anything your parents have already agreed." Fuck. My. Life
