Sitting on my throne, i grimaced at the stench of the men in front of me. Both smelled of the sewers and rotting meat all at the same time. Hiding my disgust i took a sip of wine to try and keep from vomiting on my newly polished boots.
"Well gentlemen... I honestly expected better of you.' looking at the two mens blood stained faces i sighed 'As two officers in my ranks i honestly can not understand why catching one man is such a difficult task. I gave you one order...AND YOU COULDN't FOLLOW IT! How do you think that looks on me gentlemen?"
Looking at the two frightened men I stood up a drew Kindness from my side, watching as the mens eyes grew wide with fright as i rested her freshly sharpened tip against the youngest throat.
"Answer me officer."
"Poorly.... Your... I mean... It looks badly on you ma'am."stammered the young man
Looking at him i removed Kindness from his throat and quickly sheathed her. "Now... I suggest you two blithering idiots... Get back out on the streets... I want him brought back..ALIVE!' turning on my heels i began to exit my throne room as i looked over my shoulder 'next time you return empty handed i will personally remove your head from your shoulders. Now get going"
Heading through the secret entrance behind my throne i quickly made my way to the dungeon. The damp hallway smelled off moss and was barely lit with a few minor lanterns. As i passed the guards i slipped out of my cloak and let my dress hit the floor as i shifted into my wolf form. Nodding to the guard who quickly picked up my dress and cloak and hung it on a peg.
"Be careful princess. I will wait for your return." stated the guard. Nodding my approval i quickly headed out side and ran. My wolf loving the feeling of getting to finally stretch our legs and be free. Extending my body i howled low and long happy to just be free of the palace and my brothers stuffy rule for a little bit.
Returning to the palace at dawn, my wolf content and happy having gorged herself on an antelope in her brothers menagerie.
Shifting human i smiled at the boy who was on guard as his face ran red.
"You will have to get used to seeing naked people young man" smiling to myself i covered my form and headed to my room.
Quickly dressing into my riding pants and a shirt, i donned my cloak again; heading to the great hall i bowed to my father, and kneeled before the Queen.
"Your majesty, i need to speak with you soon. It is about the task i asked of you."
She nodded and motioned for me to follow her into her study.
"I know you want to go outside the palace walls, however since your the crown princes sister i simply can not allow it. There are simply too many dangers. What would your brother think of me if i let his sister go over the walls and got killed?"
She looked at me with her cold calculating eyes, and i steeled myself against them. 'He would think u had died doing what i was happy doing. Helping the people of his country and getting rid of people who cause problems for our merchants".
