Tages entered the ship with an air of paranoia. How did Chris find him?

"Tages!"

Tages shot up from the couch he was sitting on.

"What?"

Chris glared at him.

"I just asked you a question. How did you get there?"

"When I entered the Akuron I-"

"YOU ENTERED THE AKURON?!"

Tages was surprised by his anger. "Yeah, I did, you can't get angry at a man who just wants to-"

"I DON'T CARE WHAT YOUR MOTIVE WAS!" Chris paused to take a breath. "You are like a brother to me. We've been best friends since the Atom War. I don't want it to end with you or me dying."

Tages was touched. "I'm really moved, I just need to see my father."

Chris sighed. "You can bunk here since your ship was destroyed. We're set course for Nucleic  Quarters, where the Scavvers are."

"Slight issue," Tages said. "I got into come trouble with that gang a while back. I'm not allowed there anymore. They'll shoot me on sight."

Chris just blankly stared at him. "What was that?"

"You heard me," Tages said. "Anyway, can't we just stay here?"

"We're running low on supplies here on the Phantom, and boxes are taking up space in the storage, so you can't sleep there."

"We'll just sneak into the Quarters with your escape pod," Tages said, but judging on the look of Chris' face," You DO have an escape pod, right?"

"Well...Um....This kinda is the Fortifier's escape pod."

Tages couldn't believe it. It was so big.

"It doesn't matter how big it is," Chris said. "All that counts is-"

A massive explosion rattled the Phantom, and the laser screen powered on.

"KZZACK. GREETINGS, TAGES. CHRIS. WE ARE KNOWN AS THE-" The blue skinned, three eyed alien speaking was shoved out of the picture.

"Hello. My name is Max." Max was wearing a battle onesie, and he had a long scar over his right eye. He bore a strong and gruff voice.

"We have gained word you are searching for the Arcane Core in Solar System 2. That is our goal. We are known as the Dragonhood, and we do not mean any harm towards you. That is, if you stop interfering with our operations."

Max paused as another alien came into view.

"Grandmaster Max, we have striking news. The Scavvers are on their way."

"What?!" Max said. "Get the ship on high alert. Ready the plasma cannons."

"Yes sir."

Max looked directly to Tages this time.

"Watch your back."

Max touched his temple and a mask materialized over his face, and armor formed on his body.

His voice sounded robotic now. "Don't mess with us."

The laser video ended. Tages just sat there, his eyes wide.

Chris finally spoke up: "These guys are going to be a huge problem, aren't they?"

Tages just nodded his head.
